The Purple Storm

The White Bones Monsters were the same as before, but this batch was clearly an evolved version.

The ones they had encountered earlier at Fairy Tale Manor had still stumbled and staggered as they walked, as if they hadn't adapted to walking on the ground at all.

But this batch didn't stumble at all. They could run with ease. The moment they charged onto the surface, they raced toward Jiang Yue and the others like they'd taken some kind of berserk drug.

Their aggression was astonishing.

And unlike the previous batch, these monsters were clearly more perceptive, with a much stronger ability to lock onto their targets.

The earlier White Bones Monsters had seemed somewhat blind and bewildered, wandering about aimlessly, with little sense of their own.

But this batch could clearly lock onto Jiang Yue and Lin Yifei from such a distance. It was impossible to tell whether their senses of smell and touch had reached that level, or whether some force was guiding them.

Fortunately, Jiang Yue and Lin Yifei had escaped the plants' encirclement quickly. Otherwise, if they'd been tangled up in the vines while also having to deal with these White Bones Monsters, they'd really have had their hands full.

Watching the White Bones Monsters surge toward them like a tide, Jiang Yue knew that the strange insects Lin Yifei had sent out had surely been wiped out. The slime that had been sucked underground had probably gone to waste, too. Even the mutated beasts Lin Yifei had used to detect and destroy the spirit seeds were likely in trouble.

Otherwise, with their instinct to protect their mistress, those strange insects would already have charged over to protect Lin Yifei.
