Although Old Nie was in a sorry state, he had at least managed to keep his life. Compared to Qiu Gou, Old Nie felt he was actually rather lucky.
Especially when he was being dragged along and saw Qiu Gou's eyes, wide open even in death, along with the brain matter and blood covering the ground, Old Nie felt that being alive was not so bad after all.
Poor Old Nie. When he had set out, he had still been chatting and laughing with Qiu Gou, at least having someone for company. Now, with two mastiff-like hounds as burly as lions flanking him, he truly did not know whether to laugh or cry.
Fortunately, these two hounds were fairly intelligent. They seemed to know that Old Nie was on their side now and did not bare their teeth at him.
Even so, Old Nie still felt like crying without any tears.
They might look like companions now, but what if they turned on him? They were two surveillance tools that could turn hostile at any moment, and their existence could make him suffer unbearably.

As for returning to report within four hours, he could forget about that entirely.
