Background

Lu Li was an orphan adopted by the Lu Family in Nanshan. After her adoptive parents died, she was driven out and lived on the streets until Wen Xi brought her into the Wen Family. As a child, she was timid, cried easily, and followed Ye Qiu obediently; Wen Xi arranged their engagement during this period. Lu Li vanished after only a few months. 12

Her origins remained unclear to Ye Qiu for much of the story. Lu Li later revealed that sealed memories had begun surfacing when she was five, became clearer at seven, and were substantially restored by eleven; these memories included knowledge of locations in the Upper Realm. 516
