Brother Snake first appears as a Great Serpent residing in Ye Qiu’s consciousness space, where he becomes bound to Ye Qiu after the latter’s Dragon Pattern Jade Pendant breaks. Though initially weak and in need of nourishment, he offers Ye Qiu rapid growth in return for being fed spiritual resources and Demon Beast Spirits. 2 5

He repeatedly encourages Ye Qiu to preserve his pride, seize opportunities, and rely on himself rather than expecting constant protection.
