History

Ancient Separation and Corruption

Humanity once dominated the Canglan Realm. After the Cunning Insect clan polluted its Heavenly Dao, major human powers discovered that the insects could recover even after near-eradication. A portion of the corrupted Heavenly Dao was eventually severed and cast into the Deadlands, creating the isolated lower Canglan Realm. 66 135 157

The separation left the Heavenly Dao incomplete and the laws chaotic. Immortal Qi gradually diminished, while ascension became impossible or fatal for most cultivators. 135 180

Guixian Clan Occupation

The Guixian Clan invaded the Canglan Realm approximately three thousand years before Su Ming learned its history. The clan consumed humans as blood food, wiped out cultivators above the Immortal Realm, and reduced the surviving human population to scattered tribes and controlled communities. 135 136

The Guixian Clan controlled the realm's known teleportation array, leaving ordinary humans unable to escape. 136

In the upper realm, humans who broke through to the Mahayana Realm could be detected through a curse attributed to the Guixian ancestor. Despite the scarcity of Immortal Qi, the realm retained pure Spiritual Energy and abundant cultivation resources. 136 145

Cunning Insect Liberation

Su Ming returned with five Immortal Sovereigns and eliminated the Cunning Insect Progenitor after its main body was destroyed and its remnant soul attempted to flee into Heavenly Dao Space. 554

The realm began recovering over the following five years. The five sovereigns divided responsibility across Central Prefecture, You Prefecture, Green Prefecture, Mystic Prefecture, and the Barren Prefecture, rebuilding sects and clearing surviving Cunning Insects. 554 560

The restored environment supported extraordinary cultivation growth: in a recorded simulation, disciples could reach the Immortal Realm in five years, far faster than comparable cultivation in the Vast Immortal Domain. 560

Within ten years in that simulation, each of the five sects had more than half a million disciples. The realm produced hundreds of Immortal Kings and more than twenty Immortal Sovereigns, though Su Ming warned its leaders that a much larger Abnormal Clan invasion was approaching. 560

Abnormal Clan Invasion

The Abnormal Clan later opened Space Rifts across the realm and erected five black pillars, one in each major state. The pillars drained Spiritual Energy, anchored spatial coordinates, and prevented Immortal Sovereigns from moving their battles safely into Outer Heaven. 610 611

In one recorded defense, Su Ming ordered low-level cultivators from the four outer continents relocated to Central Prefecture. The invading armies found those regions nearly empty and converged on the fortified central territory. 587 588

The prolonged war forced the surviving cultivators into a centralized order under the Sacred Heaven Sect. Cities were rebuilt as fortified formation-linked strongholds, while surviving cultivators were organized into the Demon Suppression Army. 604

Ark Project and Destruction

Facing the certainty of renewed invasion, Su Ming proposed the Ark Project: evacuate the realm's elites, geniuses, cultivation inheritances, and resources to the Weiyang Immortal Domain, effectively allowing the Canglan Realm to be “killed” as an invasion target. 710

Ten years later, the realm had been devastated. The Five Continents were enclosed beneath an abnormal barrier created by five black pillars; Sacred Heaven Sect and other historic sites had been reduced to ruins. 738

The human death toll was catastrophic: fewer than one in ten remaining humans survived. However, seed disciples, promising mortal clans, and other human survivors had been relocated before the destruction. 740

Canglan Immortal Domain's Collapse

A force led by Su Ming later entered the Canglan Immortal Domain through a Realm Array to confront Gluttony's forces. 773 775

At a later return, the domain had become a dead domain. Its central continent had shattered, Black Pillars stood across the fragments to extract source energy, and no life or residual energy remained. 827

The ruins contained a vast claw mark bearing both Gluttony's aura and an unfamiliar ancient aura. The evidence indicated that Gluttony had not been defeated there, but had been summoned away after kneeling before an unseen figure. 827
