Background / History

Su Ming is a transmigrator who entered Qingyun Sect with a Five Elements Mixed Spirit Root and initially suffered from extremely slow cultivation. He activated the Life Simulator, which allowed him to experience possible futures, draw Talents, and bring selected rewards back into reality. His early simulations taught him to treat cultivation as a survival problem rather than blindly following the sect’s path 1.

He gained Innate Wisdom Root, mastered multiple Outer Sect techniques, reached Qi Refining Tenth Layer, and killed a Foundation Establishment cultivator during a mission against the Demonic Cult 2. He later suspected that Qingyun Sect’s Foundation Establishment Pills were compromised, obtained the Alchemy Prodigy Talent, and began refining his own pills rather than relying on the sect’s supply 3.

Su Ming’s distrust of Qingyun Sect deepened after he discovered that Inner Sect Elder Mo Chen had obstructed his development and that Foundation Establishment cultivators could be devoured by Sinister Worms. He learned that the danger surrounding Foundation Establishment was rooted in the cultivation system itself and that many apparently human cultivators were already controlled by Sinister Worms 9 24.

After discovering the threat posed by Sinister Worms and Cunning Insects, Su Ming turned against Qingyun Sect. He escaped with Ye Chuxue and slaughtered several thousand of the sect’s Foundation Establishment disciples in a single hour, believing them to be part of the larger danger 22.

He later joined Sword Pavilion, a rare force composed entirely of normal humans. There he developed his sword path, learned the relationship between Sword Intent and Nascent Soul breakthroughs, and became increasingly committed to fighting Cunning Insects and protecting his companions 23 24.

After leaving the Canglan Realm, Su Ming entered the Immortal Domains, obtained the Primordial Ancient Lamp, and clashed with powers such as the Nine Heavens Immortal Sect. His efforts to protect Su Qingyuan led him to assist the Sacred Heaven Immortal Sovereign’s breakthrough, establish alliances, and become deeply involved in the Canglan Realm’s defense against Bizarre Creatures 451 507 554.

Su Ming was eventually recognized as the Human Emperor’s successor through the Dingjun Sword, Human Emperor War Flag, and the “Ming” mark left within the Human Emperor’s inheritance. He inherited knowledge concerning the Void, the Human Emperor Treasury, and his role as a possible vessel capable of controlling Void Power 723 806 842.

Following the fall of Xuanji Hall and the deterioration caused by incomplete Void fusion, Su Ming joined the Rogue Cultivator Alliance. He exposed its hidden traitor, reorganized its military structure around merit, and became the central leader of its resistance against The Weird 868 875 888.

Personality

Su Ming is calculating, cautious, and intensely pragmatic. He uses simulations to prepare for threats, tests the reliability of others, and avoids revealing information unless doing so serves a clear purpose. He will conceal his cultivation, manipulate circumstances, or flee stronger enemies when direct confrontation is disadvantageous 32 40 68.

He is also decisive and ruthless toward enemies he considers dangerous. His actions against Qingyun Sect, the Four Great Families, and hostile Bizarre Creatures show that he is willing to eliminate entire forces when he believes they threaten humanity or his goals 22 173 185.

Despite this ruthlessness, Su Ming is protective of those close to him. He repeatedly supports Ye Chuxue’s cultivation, risks himself to rescue Zhou Lingxi, seeks ways to stabilize the Peerless War King, and works to prevent tragedies he witnessed through simulations 45 81 565 599.

His later experiences as the Human Emperor’s successor strengthen his sense of responsibility toward humanity. Although he remains wary of large factions and internal politics, he accepts leadership when it is necessary to preserve human lives and oppose The Weird 806 868 883.

Su Ming is willing to bear severe personal costs for victory. He has sacrificed lifespan, endured Chaos Tribulations, forcibly interrupted Void fusion, and even detonated his origin to destroy Great Emperor Envy 328 607 859 914. His loss of memories during his incomplete Void fusion particularly frightens him, as he refuses to forget the people and goals that define him 872 884.

  • The Human Emperor explained that Void Power is not inherently hostile, but serves as part of the lock preventing the Void’s return 842.
  • During incomplete fusion, its use caused Su Ming’s body to become intangible and led to severe memory loss 859 862 884.
  • He later completed his fusion with Void Power and can now use it without continued voidification of his body 920.
  • Can create Threads of Void that return an enemy’s flesh, treasure, and origin to nothingness 924.
  • Can reinforce formations, injure Great Emperors, block Great Emperor Fury’s attacks, and force Bizarre Emperor forces into strategic retreat 921 924 928.
