Background / History

Kaguya was dispatched by the Ōtsutsuki Main House alongside a Main House clansman to investigate Ōtsutsuki Yunshi's disappearance. Fearing death, she betrayed her clan and used the Ten-Tails Larva against her companion, later identified as Isshiki. Although Isshiki escaped after losing half his body, his bloodline was enough to mature the larva into a God Tree. 87 588

After monopolizing the God Tree's fruit and power for centuries, Kaguya sought an even greater source of strength. Rather than becoming the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki, she merged her will with the God Tree's consciousness. This made Kaguya and the God Tree effectively one being, but also amplified the tree's instinct to consume and plunder life. 588

With the God Tree's roots linked to her will, Kaguya ended the era's wars without personally visiting every battlefield. The resulting fear and reverence became worship; humanity hailed her as the Rabbit Goddess and accepted her as its highest ruler. 588

Under Yunshi's guidance, human prayers, hopes, fears, and blessings accumulated around Kaguya as spiritual energy. She combined that power with Yin-Yang Release to conceive Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo and Ōtsutsuki Hamura. 588

Hagoromo and Hamura eventually discovered Kaguya's atrocities and sealed her away. Hagoromo later founded the Ninja Sect and distributed Chakra to humanity. 588
