Ch. 304Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin

Kenma used Time Severance: Revised to wound Yamamoto despite Zanjitsu Gokui, while the others watched from behind Kuzan’s ice barrier. Yamamoto summoned an endless army of charred skeletons with Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin, surrounding Kenma as the battle continued.

  • Kuzan raised an ice barrier around the First Division while Sengoku, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, Whitebeard, and Borsalino discussed Kenma’s chances against Yamamoto.
  • Shisui declared that Kenma would win and said he had not yet revealed his true trump card.
  • Kenma used Time Severance: Revised to alter Yamamoto’s movements and land several blows, while Yamamoto’s fifteen-million-degree Zanjitsu Gokui burned away Kenma’s Spiritual Pressure and damaged his Bankai.
  • Kenma erased a span of time with his reproduced King Crimson ability, then struck Yamamoto’s shoulder when time resumed.
  • Yamamoto plunged his broken blade into the ground and summoned countless charred skeletons with Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin.
  • Kenma used Lataib to cut apart the skeletons, but more immediately swarmed around him as Yamamoto watched.

Ch. 305Demon-Subduing Shrine

Kenma used King Crimson to attack Yamamoto, but Yamamoto predicted the end of the time skip and struck him with Zanka no Tachi, severing his lower body. As Yamamoto moved in to finish him, Kenma formed a hand seal and unleashed Domain Expansion: Demon-Subduing Shrine, trapping them in a transformed landscape.

  • Kuzan, Borsalino, Sengoku, and the others noticed unexplained gaps in their awareness, and Shisui told them Kenma’s power was responsible.
  • Yamamoto revived the remains of the dead to attack Kenma and taunted him into using his time-erasing ability.
  • Kenma activated King Crimson and moved behind Yamamoto, but Yamamoto countered as time resumed with Zanka no Tachi, North—Tenchi Kaijin, destroying Kenma’s body below the abdomen.
  • Yamamoto explained that he had studied the gaps in time and anticipated Kenma’s attack, then raised his blade to strike the incapacitated Kenma again.
  • Kenma formed a hand seal and activated Domain Expansion: Demon-Subduing Shrine, transforming the battlefield into a black sky above a sea of blood, bones, and a skeletal temple.

Ch. 306Reality Marble

Kenma defeated Yamamoto by using his Demon-Subduing Shrine Reality Marble and had him captured for later use. After declaring victory and taking control of Seireitei, Kenma’s forces fought and subdued Sajin Komamura when he appeared to rescue Yamamoto.

  • Kenma explained that his Demon-Subduing Shrine manifested his Zanpakuto’s [Connection] power and used it to overwhelm Yamamoto with endless slashes.
  • Kenma dismissed the Reality Marble and left Yamamoto gravely wounded and unable to speak, then told him he had spared his life because he still had a use for him.
  • Sengoku, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom arrived, and Kenma declared that they had won the war and Seireitei belonged to them.
  • Kenma ordered Shisui to seal Yamamoto’s spiritual power and heal him, while Sengoku recognized that Kenma intended to bring Yamamoto over to their side.
  • Sajin Komamura appeared and unleashed Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō, but Kaido defeated him, and Kenma ordered him imprisoned with the other captains.

Ch. 307The spoils of victory

After conquering Seireitei, Kenma assigned his allies to govern the Three Worlds and manage prisoners while learning that the former captains had survived and Kenpachi Azashiro remained hidden in Muken. He left Nobunaga in charge and returned to the Royal Palace to deal with personal matters.

  • Nobunaga reported that Kenma's army had taken Seireitei, and Tsuru gave figures showing six hundred of their troops and at least ten thousand residents had died.
  • Kenma ordered Sengoku to consider recruiting the surrendered Shinigami and directed Kagaya Ubuyashiki, Sengoku, and Tobirama Senju to restore order across the Three Worlds, with Nobunaga overseeing coordination.
  • Tobirama Senju told Kenma that Tsunayashiro Tokinada and the Kuchiki Family had surrendered, and Kenma agreed to meet both groups while keeping the captured nobles imprisoned for the King's Key.
  • Shisui reported that Yamamoto Shigekuni and the other captains were recovering under guard, while Kenpachi Azashiro had escaped into Muken; Kenma ordered the prison sealed.
  • Kenma left the headquarters for the Royal Palace, leaving Nobunaga to handle the remaining work.

Ch. 308The starting point and the goal

Kenma returned to the Shadow Space after defeating Yamamoto, subdued the Quincy revolt, and reunited with his family. He then confronted Yoruichi about his conquest of the Seireitei and his ambition to reach other worlds, leaving her convinced that he had never loved her.

  • Kenma arrived at the ruined Reincarnation Hall and learned from Nagato that Cang Du and the Steel Man were dead, while the remaining Quincy had rebelled and been subdued.
  • Kenma ordered the wounded Liltotto imprisoned, confirmed that Riko was safe, and went to the Royal Palace to see Tōichirō and Yoruichi.
  • Kenma told Yoruichi that he had defeated Yamamoto but spared him and the other captains because he still had plans for them.
  • Yoruichi confronted Kenma over his invasion of the Seireitei, his treatment of her friends, and his secret plan to conquer the Soul King Palace.
  • Kenma explained that the Seireitei and Soul King Palace were stepping stones toward using the Soul Society to travel to other worlds, and said he had married into the Shikokuin Family to advance his ambitions.
  • Yoruichi asked what she meant to him, and after Kenma called her his wife and promised to fulfill his responsibilities, she concluded that he had never loved her.

Ch. 309Tsunayashiro Tokinada

After celebrating the victory and rewarding his forces, Kenma kept Yoruichi confined, entrusted Tōichirō to Big Mom, and prepared to attack the Soul King Palace while leaving allies behind to defend Seireitei. He met with the surrendered noble clans and came face-to-face with Tsunayashiro Tokinada.

  • Kenma held a two-day victory banquet, promoted and rewarded distinguished officers and soldiers, and Yoruichi remained sleepless and furious at her confinement.
  • Yoruichi asked Soifon to help her escape and rescue Yamamoto, but Chiyo’s guards made clear that she could not leave the Royal Palace.
  • Kenma asked Big Mom to care for Tōichirō and told her, Whitebeard, and Kaido to remain in Seireitei as his fallback force while he attacked the Soul King Palace.
  • Kenma admitted to himself that he lacked confidence against the Monk of the Eye, then refused to take Shisui’s paperwork and arranged to meet the Tsunayashiro Clan and Kuchiki Family.
  • Kenma met Tsunayashiro Tokinada, who praised his conquest of Seireitei and greeted him as a fellow villain.

Ch. 310I never keep my promises

Kenma executed Tokinada and negotiated with Kuchiki Kyoka's wife, promising to spare her father and younger brother in exchange for a letter meant to persuade Kyouka to surrender. He then set out with Shisui to meet the detained nobles and bring Yamamoto Shigekuni under his control.

  • Kenma told Tokinada he would kill the Tsunayashiro Clan, but Shisui killed Tokinada before he could reveal what he wanted to ask.
  • Kuchiki Kyoka's wife asked Kenma about her family, and he promised to spare her, her father, and her younger brother's household while targeting the other branches.
  • Kenma asked Kuchiki Kyoka's wife to write a letter describing her feelings, intending to use it to persuade Kyouka to surrender.
  • Shisui told Kenma that nobles aligned with the Shikokuin Family and Central 46 sages wanted an audience, and Kenma agreed to meet them in prison.
  • Kenma announced that he would bring Yamamoto Shigekuni into the fold and revealed to Shisui that he had used up Shisui's other eye before leaping from the cliff.

Ch. 311The Captains in Prison

Kenma visited the imprisoned captains and tried to persuade them to join him, while explaining his plans for Kisuke Urahara and Yamamoto Shigekuni. The chapter ended with Kenma confronting the chained Yamamoto in his cell.

  • Kenma told Shisui that he had placed a spy near Kisuke Urahara using Shisui’s eye and ordered Shisui to maintain contact with the spy.
  • Kenma explained that Kisuke Urahara would resist him because of his principles, while Yamamoto might accept a new order with Shisui’s help.
  • Kenma and Shisui reached the prison, where Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha were guarding the deepest cells.
  • Kenma offered Ukitake Jūshirō, Kyōraku Shunsui, and the other imprisoned captains their freedom if they surrendered, but they refused.
  • Kenma told the captains that the surviving rank-and-file Shinigami were also in his custody and threatened their lives if his patience ran out.
  • Kenma reached the final cell and asked the chained Yamamoto Shigekuni how he had enjoyed his stay in prison.

Ch. 312Yamamoto's Remarkable Transformation

Kenma persuaded Yamamoto to support his plans for a new Seireitei after using Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan to influence him, while assuring him the Spirit King would remain unharmed. Yamamoto agreed to serve Kenma, and Mayuri arrived to restore his body, eager to examine him.

  • Kenma entered Yamamoto’s cell and offered him leadership of the surrendered Shinigami in exchange for helping govern the Seireitei.
  • Yamamoto rejected Kenma’s offer and declared that the surrendered Shinigami deserved death, so Kenma used Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan to change his attitude.
  • Yamamoto agreed to help Kenma after Kenma promised not to harm the Spirit King or destroy the Three Worlds.
  • Kenma ordered the guards to release Yamamoto and sent Shisui to fetch Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
  • Mayuri arrived with a case of tools and prepared to restore Yamamoto’s body, privately delighted by the chance to study him.

Ch. 313Mayuri Kurotsuchi's Little Scheme

Mayuri Kurotsuchi rebuilt Yamamoto's limbs and internal organs, but secretly installed a Spiritual Pressure Suppressor in him. Kenma destroyed the controllers and reassured Yamamoto, who kept one as a safeguard, before facing the imprisoned captains' disbelief over his change of allegiance.

  • Mayuri Kurotsuchi completed Yamamoto's painful treatment, restoring his limbs and enough strength for him to test his new body.
  • Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha argued over Hashirama's dice while Kenma waited for the operation to finish.
  • Yamamoto discovered he could not sense his spiritual pressure, and Mayuri Kurotsuchi revealed that he had secretly installed a Spiritual Pressure Suppressor and made multiple controllers.
  • Kenma crushed one controller, gave another to Yamamoto, and ordered Mayuri Kurotsuchi to hand over the rest; Mayuri also returned Yamamoto's damaged Zanpakuto, which could no longer use Bankai.
  • The imprisoned captains questioned Yamamoto's allegiance, and he insisted to Ukitake and Kyōraku Shunsui that he had not changed.
