Background / History
Wu Wang was born as the only son and heir of Xiong Han, the Bear Hug Tribe’s chieftain, and Cang Xue, a powerful Seven-Day Sacrifice. He retained memories and psychological discipline from a previous life, including training that later gave him unusual strength of will. 5
At seven or eight, shortly after making a breakthrough in his understanding of the Star Invocation Technique and sensing the origin of Star Power, Wu Wang developed a mysterious condition that caused him to faint when physically contacting women. His grandmother and more than ten powerful shamans failed to identify its source; knowledge of the illness was restricted to a small circle within the tribe. 3
His mental discipline allowed him to rapidly strengthen his spirit and master Star Invocation Techniques. By age twelve, he had become a Grand Star Priest, despite still being the tribe’s young heir. 5
After rescuing three Human Domain cultivators from Chujian beasts, Wu Wang retained Lin Suqing under a six-year arrangement: in exchange for her service, her companions could return home with medicine for their elder. He made her his tutor in Human Domain cultivation and a source of information about the outside world. 1 2 3
Wu Wang’s first attempt at Human Domain cultivation exposed a serious incompatibility: his Star Invocation Technique rejected ordinary immortal cultivation, causing him and Lin Suqing to cough blood when they attempted to combine the methods. Determined to obtain a longer lifespan and cure his illness, he investigated the conflict, conceived Star Body Tempering, and eventually gained Cang Xue’s help in cultivating both paths simultaneously. 4 5 7
Appearance
Wu Wang is a tall, slender young man whose refined but square-structured face carries a warm rather than effeminate impression. As he matured, his Foundation Establishment cultivation gave him a composed, dignified bearing that stood out within the Bear Hug Tribe. 2 15
- Usually wears his long hair tied back or bound beneath a young beast-skull headdress. 1 8
- Often dresses in Northern Plains robes, leather boots, cloaks, and beast-bone ornaments. 1 8
- Can manifest transparent Star Wings and a purple crescent mark on his forehead when revealing his Star Invocation identity. 34
- Creates close-fitting ice armor or an ice-crystal barrier around his body when threatened or avoiding contact. 7 16
Personality
Wu Wang is intensely analytical and approaches cultivation as a problem to be understood rather than a tradition to be accepted. He compares cultivation systems, questions established practices, studies basic techniques despite already surpassing their intended level, and refuses to risk his long-term path by advancing through an unsuitable method. 5 16 28
As the Bear Hug Tribe’s heir, he is pragmatic, strategic, and protective of his people. He organizes formations against the Zhuhuai, monitors the spreading Star God Cult, uses strength to deter hostile tribes, and prepares plans for the tribe’s survival even while pursuing his own path to immortality. 12 13 15 27
He is also playful and habitually teases those close to him, particularly Lin Suqing and Shennong. Beneath the humor, however, he is cautious about trust, avoids premature political commitments, and repeatedly chooses to shield companions from danger. 3 26 29 38
Abilities & Skills
Star Invocation Technique
Wu Wang invokes Star Power through a system focused on spirit, self-suggestion, and resonance with the Dao of Stars. Unlike Human Domain cultivation, this power is effectively borrowed and does not inherently extend his lifespan. 5
- Can control manifestations associated with Star Power, including wind, frost, rain, snow, thunder, and ice. 5
- Formed twelve connected stars in his palm when confronting a herd of Chujian beasts. 1
- Creates ice armor, ice spheres, and large-scale formations such as an ice mountain. 7 13
- Can manifest Star Wings for aerial movement. 13 31
- Uses the Eye of Truth to assess others’ dispositions and detect suspicious intent. 22
- Used the Star Purification Forbidden Technique to cleanse Wang Lin. 25
- Initially conflicted violently with Human Domain cultivation methods. 4 5
Immortal Cultivation and Flame Emperor Art
Wu Wang possesses extraordinary talent for Human Domain cultivation. He absorbed spiritual energy and completed a minor heavenly cycle during his first meditation session, although his initial cultivation was destabilized by conflict with Star Power. 4
- Cultivates the Flame Emperor Art through the Flame Emperor Token. 31
- Can gather and control Fire Attribute Spiritual Power, manifesting pale white flames in his palm. 32 50
- Uses his powerful spiritual sense to perceive Dao principles and refine control over fire energy. 50
- Reached Condense Core through Shennong’s anointing and later consolidated the realm on Jingwei’s island. 32 50
- Avoids advancing through incomplete or unsuitable techniques, preferring established methods over creating a flawed path prematurely. 16 28
Spiritual Sense
Wu Wang’s Star Invocation cultivation gives him spiritual perception disproportionate to his immortal cultivation realm. 15
- At Gather Qi, his spiritual sense could probe roughly ten miles. 15
- Uses it for scouting, tracking enemies, detecting patrol routes, and evaluating threats. 15 40
- Perceived Jingwei’s unstable soul state through his sensitivity to souls and spiritual consciousness. 49
Star Thunder Technique
Wu Wang developed a fixed-spellcasting method by sealing Star Invocation Techniques into crystal balls. 25
- Can deploy many stored techniques simultaneously without proportionate expenditure of divine energy. 25
- Used shattered crystal balls to release starlight and suppress Wang Lin. 25
- The technique is materially expensive; he prepared large stores of crystal balls before leaving the Northern Plains. 25 26
Strategy, Formations, and Disguise
Wu Wang combines Northern Plains military organization with Human Domain techniques and information-gathering.
- Directed priests, giant-wolf riders, rune frames, and blessed arrows in the battle against the Zhuhuai. 13
- Broke a Human Domain protective formation by manipulating the energies within it through the rings on his hands. 33
- Uses masks, altered physique, concealed aura, and the Ice Crystal Film to travel without exposing his identity. 20 27
- Uses crystal balls to observe targets and obtain information before acting. 26
Oddity Sickness
Wu Wang’s defining affliction causes him to faint upon direct physical contact with women. It emerged during childhood and was not diagnosed as a physical, mental, or soul-based illness by ordinary healers. 3 29
- The condition is tied to an Innate God’s curse and the consequences of an ancient divine war. 30 49
- His Ice Crystal Film prevents touch from reaching him, allowing him to move through crowds without immediately fainting. 16
- The Flame Emperor Token offers a potential cure, but its full resolution is linked to reaching the Ninth Level Realm. 30 32
- Jingwei’s contact does not trigger the illness, revealing a possible loophole in the curse. 47 49

Trivia
- Wu Wang’s Daoist name, Wuwang, means “without worry or desire,” though Shennong jokes that it can also suggest “a disaster without cause.” 30
- His prior-life psychological training is a major reason his spirit and Star Invocation mastery developed so quickly. 5
- He deliberately avoids creating an original main cultivation method too early, believing that shallow insight could permanently ruin his path. 28
