Although Annie had tidied up and turned over the abandoned ranch field in less than two minutes with a wave of her hand the previous night, and had even planted the seeds in an instant, she still slept until the afternoon. Only then did she stumble out of her house, rubbing her eyes and stretching.
She had no choice but to come out. The summer sun had shone all the way from her feet to her head, and even covering her face with a blanket hadn't helped. It had been too hot and stuffy, and the sunlight had still been a bit blinding!

By the time Annie came out, most of the Mineral Town onlookers who had gathered to discuss things by her field had already left. The only ones still hanging around were Karen and Lin, who had nothing better to do and didn't need to go home and help with chores just yet.
