On the surface of a short, narrow iron railway bridge, not far ahead of where Annie had nearly run over some strange guy by accident, Natsu—the fire dragon who was supposedly the strongest member of Fairy Tail—was locked in a fierce battle with Erigor, the master of the Eisenwald guild. They traded blows, unleashing wind and fire as they fought for their lives.

Gradually, as a little girl drove toward them backward on her car, the battle entered its dying moments. Erigor's protective spell, Storm Robe—a magic defense impervious to blades, water, and fire—was soon undone. Natsu had used his flames to manipulate the low-pressure air currents, changing the wind's direction and disrupting the spell.

Happy, the blue, talking cat, saw that Natsu had beaten such a powerful opponent all by himself and excitedly leaped up and down on the tracks, cheering loudly.

Having landed a successful punch, Natsu was about to press his advantage, pummel Erigor—who had fallen hard onto the tracks and hadn't been able to get back up for ages—and seize the evil staff-flute before arresting him. But then, the commotion in the distance suddenly caught his attention.
