As expected, Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and Meowth had tried their best, but in the end they still failed to catch the rare and unusual Crystal Onix—just as they'd never managed to catch Pikachu or any of Annie's Pokémon.

More importantly, the glassworker had successfully found inspiration for making glass Pokémon from the Crystal Onix. It was a happy ending for everyone.
Next, after everything on Tangelo Island had been taken care of—and after they'd shamelessly accepted the glassworker siblings' invitation and enjoyed a sumptuous free dinner—Ash, Misty, and Tracey said their satisfied goodbyes before sunset. They planned to head to the harbor and ride Lapras away from the island, continuing their journey around the Orange Islands.

After dinner, the glassworker had offered to make her a glass Pokémon figure modeled after Togepi, too. But it would take until tomorrow to finish, and she couldn't wait that long, so she'd had to turn him down.
