About three hundred meters beneath the abandoned mine, in a vast, pitch-black storage cavern where the only light came from the pale lamps on the power armour of the fallen soldiers near the entrance steps, blood, severed limbs, slaughter, screams, and death had become the order of the day.
Thousands of refugees ran helplessly back and forth. Driven by the terrifying Warp Daemons, they were unarmed and trampled one another as they fled and fought for their lives.
In this vast, enclosed space, it seemed that everyone's fate had already been sealed. But before death came, fear drove them to try to outlive everyone else, even if it meant trampling others underfoot or shoving their companions toward the hideous demons behind them.
But it was no use!
Their actions did nothing but delight the demons and make them chase all the more eagerly. The awful wailing echoed through the underground cavern, while terror hung over everyone like a pool of ink that refused to dissolve. Beyond that, their efforts brought them no benefit whatsoever.
Unfortunately, at a time like this, no one had the leisure to think about such things.
What was more, in a situation like this, even those who fancied themselves wise or powerful were helpless.
The stairway exit ahead was blocked by several enormous Warp Daemons. Anyone who dared approach was either mercilessly devoured or hacked into chunks of meat by their claws. The steel gate at the rear remained firmly shut, too. Trapped in Extremis, they could only be driven and slaughtered in vain by dozens upon dozens of Warp Daemons and twisted Psykers. They could do nothing but produce more screams, panic, and weeping.

Amid the chaos, the crowd was driven by several vicious Warp Daemons once more, herded like sheep
