The Only Thing Annie Loved More Than Trouble Was Causing It

After eating her fill all by herself, Annie ultimately didn't go meet with the head of the underground military warehouse shelter—or, in other words, those boring officers.

Because she absolutely, positively, utterly, completely, and in every possible way hated sitting through those tedious, time-wasting meetings!

Still, even though she refused to meet with them, she considered the grim possibility that the shelter might be counterattacked by demons as soon as she left. After thinking it over, she reluctantly opened a portal for them and summoned Darius and the others, who'd been busy at the abandoned mining facility. After explaining the situation, she left them to handle everything on her behalf.

As for what the two sides discussed, what decisions they made, and how they planned to defend the underground shelter that the demons had discovered and reached by digging a tunnel, Annie didn't interfere in any way, nor did she ask.

Anyway!

All she knew was that Darius and the others had exchanged some kind of reliable contact information with the people there. He'd also said that he would send soldiers to help defend the shelter and provide equipment and weapons that would make it easier to fight demons. They even planned to build a Protoss Warp Gate inside the shelter to transport personnel and equipment?

As for how they would go about doing that, what their plans were, or what preconditions Darius might demand during the negotiations that followed, Annie naturally didn't care and didn't ask.

After reluctantly resting at the shelter for one night, she headed back up to the surface early the next morning, before the negotiations had even ended, and wandered all over the streets of the enormous city of Guixu.

Just as Annie had seen before, Guixu had already become a wasteland of apocalyptic ruins.
