Projected Vision

A blue-gold figure stood above the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, holding a Trident and preparing to drive it into her head. He seemed to be saying something, but it was too indistinct to hear clearly.

Thick white fog shrouded the surroundings, making it impossible to see what the environment was like.

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion suddenly opened her eyes, gasping for breath as cold sweat broke out across her body.

This was the first time she had felt the threat of death. The Trident, gleaming with icy light, had gradually enlarged before her eyes.

"What happened to the Auspicious Beast? What exactly did you see?"

Seeing the ugly expression on the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's face, the demons had no idea what she had seen and hurriedly questioned her.

"I saw... I saw a human holding a Trident, and he almost drove it into my head."

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion felt utterly wronged. She had done nothing, yet a human wanted to kill her.

The demons turned their questioning gazes toward Lu Wu. Under normal circumstances, it was impossible for the Auspicious Beast to be approached by humans, much less attacked by one.

"This is a small test for all of you. You will handle everything yourselves. I can't keep helping you with so much only for you to expect me to solve everything in the end. Wouldn't that mean I raised you for nothing?"

Lu Wu's expression was calm, and he paid no mind to the demons' doubts.

"However, I do have good news for you. I have severed the connection between the God Realm and Douluo Continent. No god can descend in their true body."

"We shall obey Lu Master's command. We would never be such lazy fools. What Lu Master has done already makes us deeply ashamed."

Gu Yuena spoke, a faint flush still lingering on her face.

During this time, quite a few Soul Beasts in Star Dou Great Forest that had neared one hundred thousand years of cultivation had successfully advanced into Beast Kings. Moreover, every Beast King had successfully condensed a Demon Core.

The strength of Star Dou Great Forest had reached its greatest height since the era of the Dragon God.

"Continue your discussion. I will be your safety net, but you will also lose your value in my eyes."

A gentle smile appeared on Lu Wu's face, but all the demons knew that he was a man of his word. If the Soul Beast race lost its value, then its fate would probably...

The demons answered solemnly, and the atmosphere became grave.

The demons' discussions began to ring out across the clearing.

Gu Yuena interrupted the demons' discussion. If they wanted Lu Wu to continue valuing the Soul Beast race, they had to give it their all.

"As I recall, both the first God of the Sea from tens of thousands of years ago and Tang San from ten thousand years ago used Tridents."

The other demons had all been homebody beasts in the past. Only Di Tian would occasionally wander across all of Douluo Star out of boredom and spend time in the human world, so he understood humans best.

"The first God of the Sea already passed his divine position and divine artifact to Tang San. He should be the one who attacked the Auspicious Beast."

"Furthermore, ten thousand years ago, the Asura God and the God of the Sea created some kind of dual-god body. Tang San should also possess the divine position of the Asura God."

With Di Tian's explanation, the demons now knew who had attacked the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. The next question was why he had targeted the Auspicious Beast.

Gu Yuena and Di Tian exchanged glances, their eyes flickering as they came to a guess.

"According to the formations I have studied, the formation core must be chosen appropriately. It even needs to be able to change at any time, or else it could be broken at any moment."

Gu Yuena waved her dragon claw, and an image of Star Dou Great Forest appeared before the demons. It had been manifested from her memories.

Within the image, pillars of light were scattered like stars across the sky. They appeared chaotic, yet contained a hidden pattern. At the very center stood a brilliant golden pillar of light, clearly different from the others. It was constantly moving, and its movement pattern was impossible to discern.

"My original idea was to have the Auspicious Beast control the formation core. After all, she would usually remain by Lu Master's side, making her the safest choice. It would be impossible for the formation to be broken."

"However, Lu Master wants to test us. He likely foresaw this scene long ago and deliberately left us to find a way to deal with it ourselves."

A bitter smile appeared on Gu Yuena's face. She had hoped to rely on Lu Wu's power to protect Star Dou Great Forest to the greatest extent possible, but it now seemed that he had known about this all along and chosen to leave.

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion looked utterly confused. She had no idea that she was supposed to control the formation core. No wonder a god had inexplicably targeted her.

Naturally, he could have left behind some divine power and divine sense on the continent. It was simply something normal gods would never do.

Back then, Tang San had paid particular attention to Star Dou Great Forest. After all, this was the place with the densest life force on Douluo Continent, and he had repeatedly inspected it several times.
