Background / History

The tower stood beneath Demon Suppressing City and was the reason for the city’s name: great demons were imprisoned below it. Mo Chengkong used the tower as an execution site, throwing Ye Wen through an opening into its sealed interior. 24

It is one of eighteen Demon Suppressing Towers associated with the former Demon Suppressing Cities of the Eastern Continent. The towers and their Demon Suppressing Tokens are interdependent: destroying a token also destroys the corresponding part of its tower, while a token removed from the Ancestral Star automatically returns to its tower. 30 32

The tower served as a supreme treasure of the Hongmeng Human Race, but after that race’s destruction it was described as having become comparatively ordinary—fixed in place and chiefly useful for imprisonment and suppression. 67

After Ye Wen refined the Sect Art Demon Suppressing Token, the ten-thousand-year seal broke. The Xingyu tower rose from underground amid lightning tribulation, and the other seventeen towers across the Eastern Continent simultaneously emerged with eight layers exposed. 30

Order Law

The tower’s primary defense and containment mechanism is its Order Law, which suppresses imprisoned demons and responds to authorized Demon Suppressing Tokens.
