Background / History

Tingting first appears as a mage fleeing a Demon Race attack alongside refugees. Rather than immediately escaping, she remains to help the injured, placing herself and her companion Xiao Yuan in danger when a large Devil Wolf pack attacks. Ye Wen rescues the pair, shelters them, and kills the pursuing wolves. 37

After being injured and exhausting her devilish power, Tingting is carried by Ye Wen toward her home, Yulan City. She introduces herself as Qiao Ting and helps warn the city of the approaching Demon Race threat. 38

As the daughter of Yulan City's City Lord, she shares her father's evacuation and intelligence-gathering preparations with Ye Wen. Despite growing up in privilege, she personally aided refugees and retained a notably kind disposition. 39

She later accompanies Ye Wen toward Xingyuan Demon Suppressing City out of curiosity, refusing to leave even when he warns her that the coming conflict is life-threatening. Witnessing powerful human cultivators defeat the Demonic Beasts inspires her to abandon magic in favor of Dao Law. 42 44

The Su Family ambushes the City Lord's Mansion, captures Tingting, and exterminates the Qiao Family. Ye Wen rescues her from the Su Family's Second Young Master before an assault can be completed, then protects her as he destroys the family's martial artists. Tingting insists on witnessing the perpetrators' deaths, driven by grief for her slain relatives. 53 54 55

Following the massacre, Grandmaster Qi Rong of the Longevity Dao Sect recognizes Tingting's potential and accepts her as a disciple. Qi Rong later helps bury Tingting's parents. 56 98
