Skye didn't think much of the fish she was holding or feel any need to keep it as a memento. She readily agreed with Feeney's verdict, already wondering whether to steam it, braise it, or roast it over a fire.
"Tomorrow, we're going somewhere else."
Watching Skye's thoughts wander, Feeney reminded her that there were only two days left of their vacation. If the next place wasn't right, he'd have to wait until his next trip to keep searching.
Hearing him, Skye came back to her senses and asked casually, "Where are we going tomorrow?"
"Puerto Rico!"
The next day, Feeney and Skye arrived in Puerto Rico. The place wasn't particularly distinctive, and even its capital, San Juan, was just a small town that didn't look very prosperous.
"Where are we going now?"
Outside the hotel, Skye gazed around and asked Feeney eagerly.
"Let's look around first!"
Feeney replied absentmindedly, a trace of surprise in his eyes.
Ever since they'd arrived in San Juan, the Compass had started pointing in a different direction. That meant he'd reached his destination. The place where Skye could awaken her powers should be somewhere in this city.
"That place seems to be underground!"
Feeney glanced down at the ground, then at Skye, who was curiously looking around. He didn't tell her about it. There was no harm in waiting until everything was ready.
Keeping a close eye on the Compass's guidance, Feeney took Skye sightseeing around the city. Eventually, they stopped at an old castle by a harbor.
Looking at the dilapidated castle, Feeney knew that, if nothing went wrong, the ruins left behind by the Kree lay beneath it.
