Under Lin Yun's control, the lightning first struck the Leopard Cats around Silly Big Girl, then those around Warrior Girl, followed by the ones around Color Monk, and finally those running towards Cow Girl.

Chain Lightning's target count was calculated as caster level + 1. Because of this, out of the 18 Leopard Cats in the chain, all but one were hit. Even that one managed to avoid most of the damage.

Lin Yun vaguely recalled that catfolk had an advantage on Agility saves. He wasn't sure if these Leopard Cats did.

However, even if their specialized magic abilities didn't apply...

The save difficulty for Lin Yun's Chain Lightning was a staggering 35. For the remaining targets, it was a still-high 33 for Agility saves. Could ordinary Leopard Cats really succeed on such a save?

This was even without Lin Yun using magic enhancements like Heightened Metamagic or Complete Spell. Otherwise... heh heh heh.
