Background / History
Hun Tiandi was the Patriarch of the Hun Clan and father of Hun Tianchen. He recognized Tianchen's extraordinary potential from birth: the child possessed innate Dou Sheng power and a physique containing the mysterious power Hun Tiandi needed to reach Dou Di. He appointed Tianchen Young Clan Leader at sixteen and later elevated him to acting clan leader, presenting himself as a supportive father while preparing to seize his son's body. 1 88 135
His pursuit of power predated his conflict with Tianchen. During the Hun Clan's campaign against Xiao Xuan, Hun Tiandi orchestrated Hun Sheng's death and helped destroy the Xiao Clan after Xiao Xuan's failed attempt to advance. His decisive elimination of the clan cleared the way for the Hun Clan's long-term ambitions. 166 235
Hun Tiandi's central ambition was to become Dou Di at any cost. He planned to sacrifice the entire Hun Clan and use the Soul Devouring Death Array to slaughter Central State and the Ancient Races for power. He regarded relatives, allies, and clansmen as expendable before this goal. 166 171
Appearance
Hun Tiandi appears as a refined, handsome man around thirty years old, carrying a book like a scholar. This gentle exterior sharply contrasts with the sinister reputation and crushing pressure of the former Hun Clan Patriarch. 294
- Usually dressed in white. 87 294
- Has a slender build and bright eyes said to pierce the soul. 294
- Resembles Hun Tianchen closely in temperament and appearance. 87 294
- Can assume a giant Dou Di body during his final battle with Tianchen. 297
Personality
Hun Tiandi is ambitious, calculating, and ruthlessly pragmatic. His lifelong obsession with reaching Dou Di outweighs his attachment to the Hun Clan or even to his son; he openly states that he would still choose to sacrifice Tianchen if given another chance. 171
He is also patient and politically shrewd. Rather than immediately acting against Tianchen, he raises his son’s status, monitors his growth, and waits for the safest opportunity to possess his physique. Tianchen’s ability to conceal his power and turn the Hun Clan against him gradually makes Hun Tiandi suspicious and increasingly unable to act with certainty. 88 136
Despite this, he holds a complicated paternal regard for Tianchen. During their final exchange, he admits that Tianchen surpassed him and praises his son’s accomplishments, while acknowledging that their conflicting ambitions made coexistence impossible. 171 295 305
