The two forces on the verge of becoming legions reacted differently to the Fishmen of the Reverse Halberd Clan. One focused on offense, the other on defense, and each made a different but reasonable choice.
The Plague Zombie Army chose to attack. Though slow-moving, they didn't care about taking a few hits from the enemy. Their greatest strength was charging into enemy ranks and dragging down several foes at once.
Following the Plague Zombies were spider units assigned to patrol with the heroes, along with ordinary undead and Lizardman undead. They could support the zombies and attack the enemy from all sides.
Once they charged into the Reverse Halberd Clan Fishmen's ranks, the zombies spread out. Under the command of their respective heroes, they engaged the Fishmen.
These zombies weren't the kind that fought on instinct alone. Every one of them was equipped with suitable weapons and armor.
The Plague Zombies, for example, had lizard heads attached to undead bodies, with all kinds of tubes sticking out of them. As they charged forward, a green vapor spread from their bodies.
Any enemy caught in the vapor would be poisoned and suffer various debilitating effects.
Their arms had also been modified, replaced with claws made of pig iron. The claws couldn't move at all and were locked in their original shape.
But that was precisely what allowed the zombies to serve their purpose to the fullest. Once they reached the enemy lines, they planted their feet and stopped advancing, swinging their arms again and again to attack the enemies around them.
Any Fishman who was struck by those iron claws would feel their health steadily draining, whether or not they were injured. Some of the weaker Fishmen were killed outright by a single blow.
But the Fishmen attacking the zombies couldn't
