The Broken Blade Fishmen might have succeeded if they had encountered another group.
But they had run into the forces on Snow Woman's side.
Everyone on Snow Woman's side was attuned to cold. On top of that, Snow Woman herself could control the weather—by which I mean weather like blizzards. So by the time the Fishmen charged in, the Snow Women had already turned the battlefield into a snowy wasteland.
Snow kept falling from the sky, too.
This battlefield was ideal for the Snow Women, but it was far from favorable for the Fishmen.
To keep their bodies moist and protect their scales, the Fishmen wore very little clothing. Even when they did wear something, it was usually armor.
That made the Fishmen especially sensitive to the weather. They weren't afraid of the cold, but the chill would definitely affect their movements.
More importantly, the fluids on their bodies would freeze in the cold air, slowing them down.
And with a layer of snow covering the ground, the Broken Blade Fishmen couldn't hide even if they wanted to sneak around.
So as soon as they came ashore, the Broken Blade Fishmen led the others in a charge toward the Snow Women.
Snow Woman's side also had several thousand troops. There weren't many Snow Women among them: of the ten heroes, only the units led by Snow Woman herself consisted entirely of Snow Women, and only two other heroes followed the same path.
The remaining heroes had chosen different paths, using the method Snow Woman's hero had provided to transform the Lizardman undead.
