Kagami Uchiha pointed at Uchiha Nan, his back growing cold. Someone had really worn a mask for over a decade, deceiving everyone in Konoha—and that someone had turned out to be a fellow Uchiha.
This was downright terrifying!!
Uchiha Nan gave Kagami Uchiha a strange look. It was as if Kagami had a mouthful of shit stuck in his throat. Had he left his vocal cords on the battlefield?
He sounded exactly like a broken record.
"Speak!"
"How did you find out Lord Tobirama had died?"
Kagami Uchiha's eyes glinted fiercely. He'd been saddled with the blame for Uchiha Nan's actions for no reason, and Uchiha Nan had toyed with him using that mask for years. It had made Kagami feel like a clown.
He couldn't swallow this humiliation!
"What makes you think you're qualified to interrogate me?"
"gold"
"You're nothing but one of Senju Tobirama's dogs!"
"A dog that abandoned its master, at that!!"
Uchiha Nan looked at Kagami Uchiha's furious expression, as if Nan had stolen his girl, and shot back without holding anything back.
No matter how much talk of benevolence and morality the Uchiha did, fists were far more effective. In the past, Nan had acted like an oddball in the clan, and plenty of the clan's fools had gotten a beating from him.
Now Uchiha Nan was going after the Hokage position in Konoha. The way he'd behaved when Senju Tobirama was Hokage wouldn't work anymore. He had to hit hard within the Uchiha clan and beat down everyone who refused to submit.

One decisive blow could spare you a hundred more. If he wanted to make a name for himself, he had to pick a tough opponent.
Kagami Uchiha's face stiffened, then turned grim. With his mask off, Uchiha Nan acted exactly like the clan's hawks.

Kagami Uchiha trembled with rage. Uchiha Nan's words were simply too vicious.
"I suspect you had something to do with Lord Tobirama's death!"
Kagami Uchiha roared. Uchiha Nan had kept up his disguise for so long, and his cunning was far beyond anything Kagami had imagined. He'd deceived Kagami, deceived Senju Tobirama, and even deceived everyone in Konoha.
The news of Lord Tobirama's death was so closely guarded, yet Uchiha Nan had somehow learned of it. It was hard not to suspect he was involved.
"You're slandering me! You're slandering me!"
"I'm the captain of the Uchiha Military Police Force! I've bled for Konoha on the battlefield and earned my merits!"
Uchiha Nan was so startled he nearly let out a strange cry. You couldn't just pin any old blame on someone! If he'd been capable of pulling off such a grand scheme and killing Senju Tobirama, he'd have done it long ago. Why would he have waited this long?
Senju Tobirama's death was Kishimoto's fault. It was just a plot contrivance. Senju Tobirama had Flying Thunder God Technique and a whole arsenal of forbidden techniques. In the Ninja world, if he wanted to escape, who could stop him?
Damn it, Kagami Uchiha looked respectable enough, but he was rotten to the core. He was pinning a charge like this on Nan. Nan had to take him down!!

Uchiha Nan formed Hand Seals, and a Ninja Blade appeared out of thin air.
A brilliant blue flash of lightning burst forth, accompanied by the roar of the blade cutting through the air.
"Thunder Flash!"
The three Tomoe in Uchiha Nan's eyes spun at high speed. This move required the Sharingan's dynamic vision.

Lightning flashed alongside sparks as Kagami Uchiha pulled out a Kunai to block. The ground cracked beneath his feet. His chest throbbed with pain, and he formed a Hand Seal with one hand.
Body Flicker Technique!
Kagami Uchiha had no intention of engaging a swordsmanship expert like Uchiha Nan in close combat. The number of souls who had died by Nan's blade could easily have reached three digits.
"Pretty quick, gold."
Uchiha Nan had thought that move would at least wound Kagami, but it didn't matter. He hadn't expected to kill Kagami in one strike anyway.
"You really are suspicious!"
Kagami Uchiha's voice was icy. After putting some distance between them, he fixed Nan with a murderous look. In Kagami's eyes, Nan was trying to kill him to silence him.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Dragon Technique!"
Blazing flames erupted, and a fire dragon over ten meters long coiled through the air. After circling several times, it charged at Uchiha Nan.
Not bad!
Uchiha Nan gripped the hilt and grinned. Then he drove off the ground, lightning flickering around him and repeatedly stimulating his cells.
With a whoosh, Uchiha Nan charged toward the fire dragon. A flash of his blade split the dragon in two, and it exploded in every direction, scattering sparks through the air.
"Die!"
Uchiha Nan closed the distance to Kagami Uchiha in an instant and unleashed his blade, forcing Kagami to retreat again and again.
Uchiha Nan was blindingly fast, and his swordsmanship was razor-sharp. Every time his blade struck, it aimed for a vital spot, leaving Kagami Uchiha struggling to keep up. His earlier injuries hadn't even healed yet.
This can't go on. I have to break away.
As Kagami Uchiha fended off Uchiha Nan's assault, he secretly formed Hand Seals. The instant their Sharingan met—
"Ninja Art: Body Bind!"
Uchiha Nan's eyes suddenly went dull. The three Tomoe in his Sharingan stopped spinning. His raised Ninja Blade lowered, and he stood frozen in place.
"Whew, whew, whew..."
Seeing Uchiha Nan stop moving, Kagami Uchiha finally couldn't hold it in any longer. He gasped for breath, then started coughing—and coughed up blood. That initial sneak attack had caused internal injuries. He'd been holding himself together through sheer force of will.
Uchiha Nan's swordsmanship was terrifyingly strong. Kagami Uchiha was sure he'd have been cut down in a few more moments. Thank goodness he'd managed to trap Nan with a genjutsu.
There was no time to rest. Kagami's genjutsu wouldn't hold Uchiha Nan for long. He had to tie him up and hand him over to Mito Uzumaki, so she could decide his fate. That would clear Kagami's name, too.
With that thought, Kagami Uchiha hurried toward Uchiha Nan, despite still coughing up blood.
"Swallow Reversal!!"
Uchiha Nan suddenly struck. The flash of his blade caught Kagami Uchiha completely off guard, and Kagami took the hit full force. A vicious wound opened across his chest, deep enough to reveal bone, and his intestines spilled out.
"Did you really think I'd fallen for your genjutsu? I was just messing with you. I saw that coming a mile away!"
Uchiha Nan's mocking voice reached Kagami Uchiha's ears. Back in his previous life, Naruto fans had said Kagami Uchiha was related to Shisui Uchiha and had genjutsu skills far beyond those of ordinary Uchiha. How could Nan not have guarded against genjutsu?
"You... you!"
Kagami Uchiha tried to say more, but couldn't hold on. His eyes grew heavier and heavier, and at last he passed out.
Uchiha Nan walked up to Kagami Uchiha and admired his handiwork. His swordsmanship had improved again.
He'd left Kagami badly wounded, but not dead. That way, Kagami couldn't defect to Hiruzen Sarutobi's side and cause Nan trouble.
But Nan couldn't just kill him outright. Uchiha Nan wouldn't go around killing clan members at will. He still wanted to become Clan Head.
Then a green light appeared in Uchiha Nan's hand. He used Medical Ninjutsu to stop Kagami Uchiha's bleeding and bandage him up enough to keep him going for a while. The clan's Medical Ninjas could handle the rest.
