Urgent footsteps interrupted Haotian's thoughts. He hurried out of the basement and arrived at the Uchiha clan's training grounds.
The sun blazed overhead, the air thick with the scent of dust and sweat.
In the center of the training grounds, Meihui was locked in a fierce battle with a Uchiha Chunin.
Meihui moved with agile grace, her Sharingan blood-red, her kunai flashing, each strike deadly.
The Chunin was caught off guard, falling victim to Meihui's genjutsu.
His eyes glazed over, as if he were trapped in a sea of fire, roaring flames searing his skin with crackling sounds.
Meihui seized the opportunity, formed hand seals, and shouted, "Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"
A massive fireball roared out, carrying a scorching heat, engulfing the Chunin.
With a deafening explosion, the fireball detonated. The Chunin crashed heavily to the ground, groaning in pain, his body covered in burns.
"Good!" Enthusiastic applause and cheers erupted from the crowd.
Elder Setsuna of the Uchiha stroked his beard, a smile of approval on his face. He slowly walked up to Meihui. "Meihui, your strength has improved considerably. In time, you will undoubtedly become a pillar of the Uchiha clan."
Meihui deactivated her Sharingan and bowed slightly. "Thank you for your praise, Elder Setsuna." Despite her efforts to remain calm, Haotian noticed a flicker of loneliness in her eyes.
Though her lips curved upwards, it couldn't conceal the faint sorrow between her brows.
Elder Setsuna seemed to sense Meihui's unease. He fixed his sharp gaze on her and said gravely, "Child, you seem troubled by something?"
Meihui's body trembled slightly, her eyes darting, hesitating to speak.
She bit her lower lip tightly, her hands unconsciously clenching.
After a moment, she slowly began, "I..."
Meihui's voice held a barely perceptible tremor. She lowered her head, her long lashes casting faint shadows on her eyelids. "I've just... encountered some bottlenecks in my recent training."
Elder Setsuna frowned. He reached out, his withered hand gently resting on Meihui's shoulder. A gentle flow of Chakra coursed into Meihui's body, carefully examining her condition.
Setsuna's expression grew serious. He seemed to have discovered something. "Your Chakra... is somewhat disordered, and there seems to be an unfamiliar power influencing you." His tone carried a hint of worry. "Child, you don't need to hide it. The clan will do its best to help you. I'll arrange for medical ninja to examine you right away."
Meihui's body stiffened. She quickly shook her head, her voice urgent. "No, Elder Setsuna, there's no need! It's really just a minor issue during training, I can solve it myself." There was a hint of resistance in her eyes, as if she didn't want anyone to touch upon the secrets within her heart.
Elder Setsuna looked deeply at Meihui. He sighed and withdrew his hand. "Alright, since you insist, I won't force you. But remember, no matter what difficulties you face, you can come to me. I will always be the Uchiha clan's support." He spoke earnestly, then turned, his back hunched, and slowly walked towards the edge of the training grounds, his figure gradually disappearing into the crowd.
Meihui watched Elder Setsuna's retreating back. She turned, facing the center of the training grounds once more, her gaze becoming more resolute, a powerful aura emanating from her.
She knew she had to become stronger to protect everything she wished to protect.
Haotian, who had witnessed the entire scene, understood. He quietly left the bustling training grounds.
On the outskirts of the Uchiha territory, Haotian found a hidden corner and began to construct his secret base.
He needed a secure place to better research and develop the Ghidorah power within him.
After arranging everything and using a shadow clone to swap shifts with Obito, allowing him a day to slack off and rest, Haotian changed into casual clothes and happily strolled through Konoha's food street.
The bustling crowds, the constant calls of vendors, and the aromas of various foods all made him feel incredibly relaxed.
He bought a skewer of grilled dango, leisurely savoring it while admiring the lively scene on both sides of the street.
"Long time no see, Haotian-kun." A soft female voice called out from behind him.
Haotian turned around and saw Anko, with her short purple hair. Following her was a tall man with a sinister smile – Orochimaru.
Anko was smiling sweetly at Haotian, her eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and playfulness.
Orochimaru, meanwhile, appraised him impassively, his scarlet snake-like eyes glinting with a chilling light.
Konoha's food street was bustling. The sizzle of grilled meat, the shouts of vendors, and the laughter of children intertwined to form a unique symphony of urban life.
Haotian took a bite of the sweet, soft dango, savoring the burst of flavor from the sauce on his tongue, but his thoughts drifted far away.
Peace, what a beautiful word, yet so unattainable.
In this ninja world, slaughter and conflict seemed endless.
