Background / History

Meihui was an Uchiha Academy student whose sudden growth made her one of Konoha's foremost young prodigies. She consistently won practical-combat classes and was regarded as nearly chunin-level before graduation. Her teacher, Yoshino Shoda, found both her combat gains and rise from middling to top academic scores suspiciously abrupt. 2

She sought power to protect herself and the Uchiha clan, secretly absorbing radiation from glowing ore despite the danger. Her confrontation with Haotian revealed that he understood her secret and could absorb radiation directly; his offer to teach her greater power intensified her determination. 5

After a White Zetsu parasite emerged from her arm, Meihui fought alongside Haotian and Might Guy to destroy it. The ordeal coincided with a Sharingan breakthrough and left her weakened. 16

Haotian later examined her cells and found abnormally rapid proliferation, short cellular lifespans, and cancerous changes. Meihui refused to abandon her pursuit of strength even after learning that her condition was worsening. 26 27 Her body was eventually rebuilt primarily from modified cancer cells, granting extraordinary vitality and chakra at the cost of making her Haotian's “subordinate derivative”; failure of the process would have meant a painful death. 64

Within the Uchiha clan, Meihui came to resent the elders' attempts to treat her as a weapon. Personality

Early on, she is proud and cold toward rivals, belittling Hyuga Iripo after defeating him. Her confidence later becomes a firm insistence on autonomy, particularly when Uchiha elders attempt to dictate how she should use her Mangekyo Sharingan. 6 124
