A Dead Heart
"Tsuna, wait!" Ichigo rushed after Tsuna's retreating figure.
"Tsuna, are you alright?" Tatsuki rushed over as soon as Tsuna emerged from the pit. Seeing Ichigo's anxious Ichigo behind Tsuna, she asked curiously, "Ichigo, what happened?"
"No, Tsuna said my damn old man is coming to Soul Society in a couple of days?" Ichigo asked.
"Yeah, didn't Isshin Yixin tell you?" Tatsuki retorted.
"Wait a minute!" Ichigo suddenly realized his mistake. "Why do you and Tsuna both know this? Isn't it me who has the surname Kurosaki?"
"You can't keep things to yourself. You get distracted the moment something happens," Tsuna, revealing the reason. "If I told you, would you still be able to rescue Rukia with all your might? I doubt you could even beat Ikkaku Madarame."
Ichigo was rebuffed by Tsuna's retort, and he tried to argue back, "What are you talking about? I knew Bankai back then too, so getting past a bald guy was a piece of cake!"
"Who doesn't know you? You're the kind of guy whose fighting power is dictated by his emotions." Tsuna waved his hand and walked out of Sogyoku Hill. "If you're not injured, go help move the wounded. Don't overthink things."
"How can this be mere idle speculation?" Ichigo watched Tsuna and Tatsuki walk further and further away. Just as Tsuna had said, his heart was already churning. He could only grit his teeth and chase after them, "Wait for me..."
Because of Aizen's control over the Kyoka Suigetsu, most of the wounded were moved to the outside of Sogyoku Hill during the actual battle. There were not many wounded at Sōkyoku Hill, and the Vice-Captain of the Visored, such as Urahara and others, had all come back to move people.
"Oh dear, what a mess this is." Urahara, as usual, covered his mouth with his fan and walked towards Tsuna with an exaggerated tone.
"You can't bear to part with your and Yoruichi's secret space, can you?" Tsuna laughed. Besides Sogyoku Hill, the underground void that Tsuna and Ichigo out of was also a mess. It was the place that Urahara built when he was in Soul Society.
"It's not just us; I originally planned to use this place as your base for coming to Soul Society. What a pity."
"Plans can't keep up with changes. It just so happens that Ichigo went berserk when we were going to the Four Great Noble Clans, so we might as well use Yoruichi's house instead."
Another blame was shifted onto Ichigo's head by Tsuna. Ichigo's forehead veins bulged slightly, and he couldn't help but want to argue with Tsuna. "Tsuna..."
"Manager, this is perfect for you." Just then, Uryū, who had handed Lisa over to Hiyori and Kuna Hak, returned. He flicked his finger, and a small white ball fell into Urahara's arms.
"Thank you for your hard work, Inoue is still very reliable." Urahara smiled as he carefully put the sphere away.
"Seriously, is it really reliable for you to send Big Brother to infiltrate like this? Aren't you sure it won't be a problem if Aizen finds out?" Ichigo asked with some concern. This incident had given him a direct understanding of Aizen's strength.
"Oh? You're calling me 'big brother' before you're even married? You should call me Inoue- senpai."
Unsurprisingly, Tsuna's playful laughter once again provoked Ichigo's fierce attack. With Tatsuki's help, Tsuna easily subdued Ichigo and reassured him, "Don't worry, Aizen isn't that petty. As long as you work for him, he doesn't care whether you're a real undercover agent or not."
"Sawada- kun, it seems we still have a lot of information to share." Kyōraku's offbeat voice came from beside me. "Was that Arrancar who used soft attacks one of yours?"
While hiding in the shadows, Kyōraku saw the entire battlefield clearly and remarked that Sora Inoue seemed a bit strange, as if he wasn't using his full strength.
Now, considering Uryū's defeat and Tsuna's words, Kyōraku seems to have figured out what happened.
"What? Captain Kyōraku planning to get something for nothing?" Tsuna asked, squinting.
"No, didn't the old man promise to pay you? We can add a little more to that condition," Kyōraku said.
"Alright then." Tsuna reluctantly turned to Urahara and said, "Manager, you can Captain Kyōraku, and just let me know the final result."
Kyōraku looked surprised. In his observation, Tsuna's group and Urahara Kisuke were merely partners. How could Tsuna be so comfortable letting Urahara negotiate?
"Don't look at me like that. All I want is the right to move freely in Soul Society. I don't care much about anything else," Tsuna said, waving his hand.
Kyōraku understood. Tsuna was only asking for the right to move freely to avoid trouble. There was only one condition that gave him the confidence to say such a thing: strength.
Just as Kyōraku was about to use his eyes to see through Tsuna's strength, he heard Tsuna ask, "Captain Kyōraku, you didn't come here just to chat, did you? Don't you need to worry about the Gotei 13?"
Kyōraku's forehead immediately creased with annoyance. For some reason, it seemed that Old Man Yamamoto was taking a hands-off approach, leaving all the cleanup work to him.
Kyōraku could only console himself that because of the Sasakibe's injury, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto didn't have a reliable deputy, and he would go drinking and carousing after finishing this job.
"Um, Sawada- kun, you know even Captain Unohana was seriously injured. I was wondering if I could ask you for help in healing the other captains?" Kyōraku rubbed his hands together, thinking about Tsuna's healing abilities with his Sun Attribute flames.
Unohana Retsu was fine initially, but Aizen's Kyōka Suigetsu was not easy to withstand, and one strike sent her into a state of Everything's Gone collapse. With the Fourth Division leaderless, Kyōraku naturally set his sights on Tsuna's healing abilities.
"That's possible, but my ability does consume some of the healer's physical potential. If possible, it would be best if the Fourth Division treated the wounds first before you received my treatment," Tsuna said.
The characteristic of the Sun Attribute flame is Activation, which means it stimulates the Activation of body cells to achieve the purpose of healing. This kind of treatment will definitely cause some damage to the body, which is why Tsuna asked Kyōraku to treat the captains' injuries first.
"I understand, I'll notify the Fourth Division to come over right away." Kyōraku is now realizing how good Nanao is. Because of the First Division's orders, the Vice-Captain is not around, which means Kyōraku has to do everything himself.
"Captain Kyōraku, I'll come with you, and we can talk about intelligence." Urahara followed Kyōraku with the air of a shrewd businessman.
"Let's go see how badly the captains are injured."
"Tsk tsk tsk, Renji, weren't you so capable? Why are you lying down now?" Over the past few days, Ichigo and Renji have become like best buddies, so Ichigo can squat down next to Renji without any hesitation and mock him.
"Ichigo Kurosaki, you just wait... Ouch!" Renji was too agitated and aggravated his wound.
Outside the Sogyoku Hill, the captains of the Gotei 13 and the Visored lay in two rows. On the Gotei 13, only Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, Kyōraku, and Zaraki were unharmed; the others were lying down. Unohana Retsu was even unconscious after being severely injured by Aizen's sword.
After hearing that Aizen had left Soul Society and that the battle was temporarily over, the Visored relaxed and fell asleep.
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto stood calmly to one side, leaning on a cane, his eyes constantly scanning between Sasakibe and Tsuna.
Kyōraku was no longer near Sōkyoku; he had gone to the Fourth Division and the Shin'ō Medical Institute to recruit people. The Central Medical Institute was an institution responsible for the treatment of nobles, and its medical standards were quite high. Its director was Kiyōnosuke Yamada, the older brother of Hanatarō Yamada.
Normally, the Central Pharmacy Institute wouldn't get involved in the affairs of the Gotei 13, but today is a special case, Kyōraku is going to recruit people with Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's letter.
Kenpachi Zaraki kept his eyes fixed on Unohana Retsu. The image of Unohana Retsu blocking Aizen's attack for him kept echoing in his mind. In that attack from Aizen, he felt the line between life and death for the first time in a long time.
If it weren't for Unohana Retsu taking that blow for him, Kenpachi Zaraki had no doubt he would have died from it. His eyes swept over the scar on Unohana Retsu's chest. Someone so strong, who could possibly leave a scar on her body?
Too many questions and worries arose. Kenpachi Zaraki shook his head vigorously. He wasn't good at these kinds of mental tasks. It was definitely easier to solve problems in the midst of battle.
Kenpachi Zaraki walked up to Tsuna, staring intently at Tsuna, and said, "Sawada Tsunayoshi, let's have a fight now!"
As expected of Tsuna Kenpachi Zaraki, he immediately challenged to a fight without even considering the circumstances. Helpless, Tsuna could only try to appease him, saying, "Captain Zaraki, in a few days, I'll definitely have a Shin'uchi with you. Isn't the point of a fight to be exhilarating when you go all out?"
Zaraki was silent for a moment, then lowered his head and asked, "With swordsmanship? Your strange swordsmanship?"
After his battle with Aizen, Kenpachi Zaraki truly experienced the beauty of swordsmanship. With his and Unohana Retsu's fighting strength, they certainly couldn't defeat Aizen individually, but they were able to suppress Aizen's actions by relying on Unohana Retsu's rich swordsmanship experience.
This led to Kenpachi Zaraki's growing interest in swordsmanship. Initially, it was Tsuna's Bankai piqued his interest, but now it is Unohana Retsu's performance that has made Kenpachi Zaraki somewhat fond of the art of swordsmanship.
"Fencing?"
Tsuna roughly understood what Kenpachi Zaraki wanted to do, but given Zaraki's strength, he shouldn't need swordsmanship at all. As long as he regained his original power, Kenpachi Zaraki could simply cut down any enemy with a single strike.
"Swordsmanship is nothing more than something dispensable to you. Once I've fought you a few more times, you'll understand what I mean." Because of his short stature, Tsuna could only pat Kenpachi's arm to offer some comfort.
Ignoring the dazed Kenpachi, Tsuna walked towards Orihime, Orihime was currently rescuing the most seriously injured person in the battle— Momo Hinamori, who had inexplicably come to get herself killed.
Within the Soten Kisshun, Momo Hinamori's eyes had completely lost their luster. Orihime was now barely keeping her alive and couldn't even heal the wound on Momo Hinamori's chest.
Seeing Tsuna approach, Toshiro, who had been kneeling beside Momo Hinamori, immediately pounced over. He pounced because he was also covered in injuries. If Hinamori hadn't been in critical condition, Toshiro would be lying next to the captains right now.
"Sawada-sensei, please save Momo!" Toshiro's voice was already hoarse; he simply couldn't accept Momo Hinamori's death.
"Stay put and don't cause any trouble." Tsuna pressed Toshiro back to the ground and walked towards Orihime.
"Orihime, what's going on? You can't even handle the Santen Kesshun?"
Momo Hinamori's condition truly surprised Tsuna. Logically speaking, Orihime's ability is to reject everything that has happened, which involves the rules. Given that Momo Hinamori had just been injured, healing her should have been a piece of cake for Orihime.
Why does Momo Hinamori's condition seem to have stagnated?
"Sawada- kun, I don't know either. It seems like there's some kind of force within this girl's body that's rejecting my rejection."
Orihime's voice was trembling with tears. If it was because of her that the person couldn't be saved, Orihime simply couldn't accept it.
"Wait, D. Spade's Magic Mirror!"
The monocle reappeared on Tsuna's eyes, allowing him to obtain the most accurate information through the Tsuna.
Momo Hinamori's situation surprised Tsuna. Rather than saying that Momo Hinamori rejected Orihime's ability, it would be more accurate to say that Momo Hinamori had accepted the fact of death.
Compared to physical death, Momo Hinamori's mind had already died; her heart was dead...
