Invitation from the 1st Division
Tsuna still couldn't escape Isshin's clutches; when he woke up in the 10th Division Barracks, the sun was already high in the sky.
Stepping out of the room, Tsuna saw a dejected Toshiro and an incredibly energetic Isshin beside him.
"Hey kid, you're up way too late! Come on, have a glass of water," Isshin said with a grin.
Tsuna glared at Isshin, annoyed. Whose fault is it that things turned out like this? It's all Isshin for starting this mess.
Tsuna drew his Zanpakuto, scabbard and all, and placed it on his forehead. Blue flames ignited on the blade, and the Sedation effect of the Rain attribute relieved the discomfort in his head.
"Wow, you can use Zanpakuto like that?" Isshin exclaimed in surprise.
"Where are Aunt Masa and the others?" Tsuna asked casually.
"Oh, Rangiku took them shopping, Ichigo went to be a tool. We men have our own things to do," Isshin said.
Ichigo was indeed used as a tool to carry things, but he also genuinely protected Masa and the others.
"How dare you say that? You knew there was something important to do today, yet you still fooled around last night!" Tsuna said irritably.
"This is a rare opportunity, you won't get this chance back in the World of the Living." Isshin still looked proud, he had taken down three of them by himself yesterday, even though they were just weaklings.
"Important business? What are you going to do?" Toshiro asked warily.
"It's nothing, Uncle went to report for duty, and I just happened to pay a visit to the First Division," Tsuna said casually.
"Visiting the First Division? Is it to challenge Chōjirō Sasakibe?"
In the past two days, Toshiro didn't just spend time with Momo Hinamori; he also summarized and organized the events that occurred after Tsuna and the others entered Soul Society. Of course, he knew about the feud between Tsuna and Sasakibe, and Toshiro immediately connected the dots.
"A challenge? He doesn't deserve it!" Tsuna scoffed. "That old bastard stabbed me, so I'm returning the favor. It's that simple."
Tsuna spoke casually, but Toshiro took it very seriously. Ever since they learned that the Sasakibe could Bankai, the image of the Vice-Captain who couldn't fight had disappeared from their minds. After all, at this point in time, Bankai still held considerable value.
Toshiro started imitating him, taking out his Hyōrinmaru to cool his forehead. He also needed to stay sober. "Can I come along? It'd be good to learn something."
For Toshiro, who is eager to improve his strength, witnessing Captain-level battle will also have a similar effect on him.
"I don't care, Old Man Yamamoto lets you in," Tsuna said.
"Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto... what if the Captain-Commander won't let you in?" Toshiro asked. It was obvious that this guy was here to cause trouble. How could Captain-Commander Yamamoto, with his temperament, allow an outsider to run wild in the First Division?
"If he won't let me in when I'm visiting him, then I'll just have to break in."
Tsuna's words completely shocked Toshiro. Although his sword was known as the strongest Ice Style Zanpakuto, on par with the strongest fire-type Ryūjin Jakka, Toshiro knew that with his current strength, there was no way he could defeat Ryūjin Jakka's master.
"Hey, you didn't tell me about this!"
Isshin was furious; cold sweat covered his forehead. Tsuna had clearly said he was going to the First Division with him, so how did he end up attacking him? Would Old Man Yamamoto consider him an accomplice and kill him too?
Isshin was already showing signs of backing down; his wife, kids, and warm bed were more important. Maybe he should just take Masa and sneak back to the World of the Living.
"What are you thinking, old man? That's just an extreme example. We should prepare for the worst," Tsuna said.
"You're going too far! How dare you fight that Captain-Commander?" Isshin was about to slam the table down.
"Oh? What if Old Man Yamamoto wants to hold you accountable for your marriage in the World of the Living and for abandoning your squad? What will you do then?"
Isshin calmly sat down again. What else could he do but rebel against that old-fashioned Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto? He had this intention in making Ichigo stay close to Masa, so that if his or Tsuna's spiritual pressure erupted, Ichigo would immediately take his family and friends back to the World of the Living.
"Sigh, let's go. Hopefully, the Captain-Commander can calm down."
If the Captain-Commander loses his temper, Isshin and Tsuna will attack Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, and at that point, they will truly have no place in Soul Society.
Led by Isshin, the three walked out of the 10th Division Barracks. This time, Isshin was in charge, so he led the way.
As soon as they stepped out of the 10th Division's barracks, the three heard Kyōraku's somewhat frivolous voice, "So everyone's finally out?"
"Captain Kyōraku, it's been a long time! Have you been waiting for a while?" Isshin greeted him with great enthusiasm. These two were both lazy and prone to slacking off. Back when Isshin was in Seireitei, they had a lot in common.
"Isshin, it's been a long time indeed. I could tell you guys were hungover. I haven't been here long either," Kyōraku said.
"I wonder what brings Kyōraku here today?" Isshin asked cautiously, hoping it wasn't anything bad, but anything that required Kyōraku's involvement couldn't be trivial.
"I received orders from the Captain-Commander yesterday, and today I've come to invite former 10th Division Captain Isshin Shiba and the visitor from the World of the Living, Sawada Tsunayoshi, to the First Division for a chat."
Tsuna swaggered in through the White Path Gate without any intention of concealing their presence. Moreover, Tsuna had even beaten up the White Path Gate's guards, so Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto immediately knew of their arrival.
The fact that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto was able to wait until the next day to summon them to the First Division suggests that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto probably didn't have any ill intentions towards them.
Isshin thought the same thing. After glancing at Tsuna and seeing that he didn't object, he said, "Please have Captain Kyōraku the way."
"Wait, Captain Kyōraku, did the Captain-Commander say what they wanted to discuss? Can I come along too?" Toshiro asked.
As Captain-Commander Yamamoto's good apprentice, Kyōraku had a good idea of Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's plans. Toshiro is the current captain of the 10th Division, so having him join the team wouldn't be too much of a problem.
"Then let's all come together, Captain Hitsugaya."
With Shunsui Kyōraku leading the way, there were no unexpected incidents along the way. No one even came up to ask them questions. The group entered the First Division's barracks and, after turning a few corners, arrived at Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's tea room.
Upon opening the door to the tea room, besides Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and his inseparable Sasakibe, Suzakube, there were others already waiting: Unohana Retsu and Jūshirō Ukitake from the Gotei 13. Sitting opposite this group were Urahara Kisuke Hirako Shinji.
Tsuna an eyebrow. Goodness, this is no small matter. As the saying goes, small matters are discussed in large meetings, and big matters in small meetings. Apart from the two disciples of Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, the other two Gotei 13 have been following Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto for a thousand years. These four can be said to be people that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto absolutely trusts.
Urahara Hirako are quite interesting; they represent a portion of the forces in the World of the Living, Urahara Shop and the Visored. If we add Tsuna and his young companions, it can be said that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto has directly gathered all the forces in the World of the Living together.
After the door opened, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto first glanced at Toshiro, then calmly said to the newly arrived group, "Sit."
The moment he received Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's look, Toshiro consciously sat down in the corner. Today, he wasn't the main character; he was just an observer.
As Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's most considerate helper, Sasakibe immediately served tea to the new guest, but when he noticed that Tsuna's eyes were fixed on him, his hand trembled slightly.
Tsuna had witnessed the series of explosions Sasakibe caused in the Sōkyoku Heavens. He knew that with his strength, he had no chance of winning against Tsuna's enemy unless he launched a sneak attack.
Such a formidable enemy was ultimately easily suppressed by Tsuna. Amidst that relentless onslaught, even Sasakibe wasn't entirely sure if Ōetsu Nimaiya could withstand it.
Tsuna was sizing up the Sasakibe while considering which ability to use to deal with Sasakibe. It has to be said that the Sasakibe ' Ōetsu Nimaiya has its own unique strengths. Its instantaneous attacks are extremely swift, otherwise it would not have been able to leave a scar on Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's head.
In Tsuna's own power system, there is no power that is purely speed-based. Even when dealing with Unohana Retsu's almost invisible sword moves, he used the Rain attribute's Sedation.
The best way to avenge the sword wound inflicted by the Sasakibe would be to suppress Sasakibe with overwhelming force. However, Tsuna was afraid that he might go too far and kill the Sasakibe.
We need to think carefully about which method to use.
Unbeknownst to Tsuna, the more he stared at Sasakibe, the more cold sweat poured down Sasakibe's back. After finally finishing refilling the tea, Sasakibe quickly hid behind Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto spoke first, "Isshin Shiba, you've been away from Soul Society for over ten years. What brings you back this time?"
"Captain-Commander Yamamoto, back then, I went to the World of the Living alone to investigate the whereabouts of Hollow Ichigo..."
Isshin gradually told Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto about the events that had happened over the years, from investigating Aizen's artificial Hollows to his pursuit in the World of the Living, to being saved by his current wife, and how he used all his Bleach powers to save his wife who was trapped in Hollow Poison.
"Until recently, when my son Ichigo Kurosaki obtained the power of Bleach, my Bleach power no longer needed to suppress the Hollows within him, and that's when I regained my Bleach power."
"I've come to the First Division to tell the Captain-Commander the truth about what happened back then. Because I still have a wife and children to take care of in this World of the Living, I ask Captain-Commander Yamamoto to allow me to stay in this World of the Living as Kurosaki Isshin."
This was Isshin's final responsibility; the resignation of the squad leader could not be left unexplained. As for what Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto would decide afterward, that was not Isshin's concern, since he had already changed his name to Kurosaki Isshin.
"Kyōraku, what do you think about this?" Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto suddenly asked.
Kyōraku hadn't expected that he was involved in this matter, so he could only sit up straight and reply, "Teacher, according to convention, Isshin's case should be transferred to the Central 46 for trial, but based on my understanding of them, Isshin will most likely not have a good ending."
Hearing this, Isshin was already sweating profusely. He had made up his mind that once Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto handed him over to the Central 46, he would draw his sword without hesitation. As a former captain, he knew all too well that they were just a group of people who only cared about their own interests.
Moreover, Isshin's original name was Isshin Shiba. If he were to be tried by the Central 46, they might use it as an excuse to make trouble, and even the last bit of the Shiba Clan's resources might not be able to withstand it.
After all, even a fallen camel is bigger than a horse. Even though they are no longer among the noble families, many eyes are still on the Shiba Clan, which was once one of the Five Great Noble Houses.
"Isshin was only left in the World of the Living because he was framed by Aizen. In addition, Ichigo has done Ichigo good job for Soul Society this time. I think we should just turn a blind eye and from now on, there should only be Kurosaki Isshin."
Isshin couldn't help but curse Kyōraku in his heart. What a panting guy! He almost scared him to death.
