After dinner, it was time to check on the 12 Animal Traps.
Wang Yu had checked them once that morning, but there had been nothing in any of them. All he could do was put a piece of Water Snail Meat on each trap as bait.
After leaving the shelter, Wang Yu switched on his Oil Lamp. Traveling with a Torch was exhausting. Not only was its light unsteady, but he had to relight it every few minutes.
He switched on the Oil Lamp.

The first Oil Lamp he'd used still had 57 minutes of fuel left.
Carrying the lamp, Wang Yu headed for the creek. As he passed the Cedar Wood tree, which was over 60 centimeters thick, he checked the Pine Oil Collectors. All four had collected 14 ml of pine oil.
Not bad.
With four Pine Oil Collectors gathering pine oil, he wouldn't have to worry about running out of fuel for lighting. He could use his Oil Lamp while traveling from now on.
No longer in such a sorry state, Wang Yu had finally achieved lighting freedom. Carrying the Oil Lamp, he quickly crossed the woods and descended the Steep Slope.
When he reached the creek, Wang Yu began checking the 12 Animal Traps he had set.
When he came to the first one, the Water Snail Meat was gone, but the trap hadn't caught anything.
The same thing had happened with the next few traps. The bait had disappeared, but there was no catch.
That meant there were wild animals nearby that had eaten his Water Snail Meat, but the traps hadn't caught them.
How frustrating.
When Wang Yu checked the sixth trap, he spotted three Prompt Messages on the ground some distance away.

He'd caught something! Wang Yu hurried over and picked up the Wild Rat Meat.
At 360g, this Wild Rat was a big one.
Next, Wang Yu picked up the Wild Rat Skin. It was a little bigger than his palm and covered in fur. He had no idea what it was for, but he'd worry about that later. For now, he'd just put it away.
Finally, Wang Yu picked up the Copper Coins too.
The Animal Traps had finally paid off today. Wang Yu continued checking them.
The next two traps had nothing in them. But when Wang Yu checked the ninth one, he saw three more Prompt Messages.

It was Wild Rat Meat again. Wang Yu understood now: the Wild Rats must have been stealing the Water Snail Meat he'd left out. It looked like Water Snail Meat worked as bait.
Wang Yu checked the remaining traps, but found nothing else.
Still, today's haul was excellent. The Animal Traps had caught two Wild Rats, giving him 720g of Wild Rat Meat, two Wild Rat Skins, and 126 Copper Coins.
Since Water Snail Meat worked as bait, and he still had 74 pieces of Water Snail Meat weighing 10g each, he put one on every Animal Trap again.
By the time he returned to the shelter, it was almost nine at night. Wang Yu rested by the Fire Pit.
A little after nine, he'd be able to use Dice to Increase the quantity of his items again.
Wang Yu already had a plan. What he needed most right now was food, so he wanted to increase the quantity of some food.
He had several kinds of food: 300g of Dwarf Rabbit Meat, 320g of Pincer Fish meat, 1,000g of Giant Lizard meat, and two portions of Wild Rat Meat weighing 360g each.
After thinking it over, Wang Yu decided to increase the Rabbit Meat. He wanted to eat grilled fish, but Water Snail Meat and fish were both aquatic foods. He needed something to eat in between, so he chose the Rabbit Meat.
Wang Yu took out the Rabbit Meat, opened his right hand, and produced the Dice. The dots on all six sides had turned gold again.
"Increase the quantity of this portion of Rabbit Meat."
He rolled the Dice.
Three.
Wang Yu had rolled a three.
Three glowing orbs appeared above the Dice, each showing the image of a portion of Rabbit Meat.
At Wang Yu's thought, three more 300g portions of Rabbit Meat appeared in his hand. He now had four portions of 300g each.
After putting the four portions of Rabbit Meat into his Backpack, he saw that it was still early. He decided not to rest.
Wang Yu left the shelter and went into the woods. He had cut down five Cedar Wood trees that day, and they had plenty of branches. He bundled up the branches one by one, then carried them all outside the shelter.
Once he was done, Wang Yu returned to the shelter. It was time to sleep.
Before going to bed, Wang Yu checked the messages in the Chat Channel. Every Player had managed to get a Pine Oil Collector today, but each one had only gotten a single collector. No matter how many Pine trees they chopped down, they didn't get another.
It looked like each Player only got one Pine Oil Collector.
With the Pine Oil Collectors, most Players had become more optimistic.
Wang Yu browsed the Chat Channel for a while, then lay down to sleep.
A little after three in the morning, his alarm rang. He could use Dice to Increase the quantity of items again.
Wang Yu already had a plan. He took out a Tin Bucket, then produced the Dice.
"Increase the quantity of this Tin Bucket."
After he felt the Tin Bucket become locked onto, Wang Yu rolled the Dice.
Five.
Wang Yu had rolled a five.
Five glowing orbs appeared above the Dice, each showing the image of a Tin Bucket.
"Hahaha!"
Wang Yu could hardly believe it. He'd rolled a five last night, and now he'd rolled another five.
He took out the five Tin Buckets. Now he had six in total, enough to scatter them all over the ground.
He wouldn't have to worry about running out of containers anymore.
After putting the Tin Buckets away, Wang Yu went back to sleep.
The next day, Wang Yu woke up at eight in the morning.
It was the third day of the Survival Game.
As soon as he woke up, Wang Yu went to check the 12 Animal Traps. The traps had caught two Wild Rats the day before, so he was looking forward to seeing what they'd caught.
When he checked the first few traps, all the Water Snail Meat had been eaten, but none had caught anything. Wang Yu could only put out more Water Snail Meat as bait.

He continued on to check the rest of the traps. After inspecting all 12, he didn't find anything else caught in them.
He'd caught one Wild Rat that morning.
Naturally, he was happy to have more food coming in.
Wang Yu prepared to return to the shelter. He used a Tin Bucket to draw a bucket of water from the creek, put it in his Backpack, and started back.
Following the creek upstream, he climbed the Steep Slope and entered the Big Tree Forest. Wang Yu came to the Cedar Wood tree, which was over 60 centimeters thick. By then, all four Pine Oil Collectors attached to it had filled with 30 ml of pine oil.
Wang Yu took out a Tin Bucket and removed the four Pine Oil Collectors one by one, pouring all the pine oil into the bucket.
He collected 120 ml of pine oil in total.
