Cui Yi was Great Xia Academy's most celebrated young genius, a peak Second-Tier Martial Artist just short of his twentieth birthday. His undefeated record below the Third Tier made him a leading contender for the Cangqiong Ancient Saint's inheritance in Cangqiong Tower. He entered the tower with other Great Xia Academy students and pressed ahead without delay. 111

Within the inheritance grounds, Cui Yi contested the Golden Cicada Spirit Blood against Che Shiman and more than a dozen Xiongya Academy students. He fought the group alone, defeating ordinary disciples in only a few exchanges while calmly neutralizing Che Shiman's attacks. After failing Cangqiong Tower's inheritance trial, Cui Yi demanded that Zhu Ping'an surrender the legacy. Unable to accept his first defeat, Cui Yi exposed his Blood Cult identity and activated an exotic beast–demon bloodline. A year later, Cui Yi resurfaced at Secret Realm Number Thirteen as a peak Third-Tier Blood Cult member.
