| Peak Taiyi Golden Immortal | 4 | Matched Guiyuan in cultivation realm before their contest for the Xuanyuan Controlling Water Flag. Kunpeng relied on his Wind and Water Daos, combat experience, and the Kunpeng Nest. 4 |
| Yin–Yang Dao prototype | 7 | Guiyuan's explanation of deriving Yin and Yang from Wind and Water breaks Kunpeng's long-standing bottleneck, revealing his path toward condensing a Daluo Dao Fruit. 7 |
| Secluded cultivation toward Daluo | 7 | Chooses seclusion to consolidate his realization and pursue a breakthrough rather than accompany Guiyuan to the Northern Continent. 7 |
Background
Kunpeng was born in the Northern Darkness and lived as a neighbor to the North Sea Mysterious Turtle, later known as Guiyuan. Though they were not close friends, Kunpeng regarded them as fellow Innate Sacred beings restricted by the Northern Darkness and their respective origins. 2 3
His innate foundation is aligned with the Daos of Wind and Water. This grants him rapid progress in those paths but makes unrelated or opposing Daos substantially harder for him to comprehend. 2
Before meeting Guiyuan, Kunpeng had traveled beyond the Northern Darkness, fought residual Ferocious Beasts, and clashed with the Dragon Clan. He considered this experience an advantage over Guiyuan, whom he believed lacked combat experience after eons of dormancy. 4
Appearance
Kunpeng can manifest as a colossal roc dharma body and also appear in a humanoid form.
- His roc dharma body blots out the sun and can cross ninety thousand li with a flap of its wings. 2
- He is associated with a shadowy, sinister, and icy presence. 2 7
- During his confrontation with Guiyuan, he is described as having a gloomy face and sinister eyes. 4 5
Personality
Kunpeng is observant and calculating. When Guiyuan's transformation attracts an abnormally severe Lightning Tribulation, Kunpeng quickly infers that the Mysterious Turtle may be attempting to overturn a fate burdened by immense heavenly karma. 2
He is ambitious toward spiritual treasures and initially confident in his own battlefield experience. Upon discovering the ownerless Xuanyuan Controlling Water Flag, he proposes a spar rather than openly fighting Guiyuan, expecting his refined techniques and experience to secure victory. 4
Despite his cunning, Kunpeng can accept defeat pragmatically. After Guiyuan overwhelms him and damages the Kunpeng Nest, he immediately concedes the flag rather than prolonging a losing battle. 5 6 His later return to seek Dao guidance shows humility and a genuine desire to advance. 7
Abilities & Skills
Wind and Water Daos
Kunpeng was born with authority over Wind and Water, which form the basis of his cultivation and combat methods. 2 7
- Can manipulate Northern Darkness True Water and Nine Heavens Gale. 5
- Uses the interplay of mobile Wind and still Water as the basis for a future Yin–Yang Dao foundation. 7
- His Wind and Water Dao rhythm can visibly affect the surrounding moisture and air while discussing the Dao. 7
Return to the Void
A Water Dao trapping art that collapses the surrounding space into a vortex-like prison. 4
- Draws in light, spiritual energy, and dispersed vital energy.
- Seals off an opponent's ability to recover power from the surroundings.
- Was anticipated and broken through by Guiyuan. 4
Peng Strike
Kunpeng's high-speed movement technique. 4
- Transforms him into a nearly invisible stream of light.
- Allowed him to escape the range of Guiyuan's Great Dragon Appearance Technique and Great World Technique. 4
- Could not evade the all-directional confinement created by Guiyuan's nine Primordial Heavenly Dao attacks. 5
Wind and Water Combined Strike
Kunpeng's ultimate offensive divine ability at his realm. 5
- Combines Northern Darkness True Water and Nine Heavens Gale into a massive annihilating spiral force.
- Powerful enough to crush an ordinary Primordial Unity Golden Immortal.
- Was shattered by Guiyuan's combined Primordial Heavenly Dao attacks. 5
Heavenly-Secret Deduction
As an ancient primordial being, Kunpeng can make deductions concerning heavenly mechanisms and fate. 2
- Correctly suspects that Guiyuan's tribulation is connected to an attempt to alter predetermined fate.
- Cannot discern Guiyuan's concealed fate, as the heavenly secrets around him are shrouded in chaos. 2 3
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Kunpeng Nest — An Acquired spiritual treasure refined from Northern Darkness Profound Ice, divine metal essences, and materials born from Kunpeng's own being. 4 5
Relationships
- Guiyuan — Fellow Innate Sacred of the Northern Darkness and former neighbor. Kunpeng first watches Guiyuan's transformation with concern, later contests him for the Xuanyuan Controlling Water Flag, then accepts him as a Dao companion and calls him “Brother Gui” after receiving guidance. 2 3 5 7
- Northern Darkness Mysterious Turtle — Guiyuan's identity before transformation. Kunpeng knew him as “Old Turtle” and believed their shared origins made them natural allies of the Northern Darkness. 2 3
Story Role / Major Arcs
Guiyuan's Transformation
Kunpeng is alerted by the Lightning Tribulation surrounding Guiyuan's transformation and flies to its edge in his roc form. He observes the process, recognizes the tribulation's unusual heavenly killing intent, and suspects Guiyuan is resisting a predetermined fate. 1 2
When the tribulation vanishes without warning, Kunpeng is unable to deduce its cause. He then personally congratulates the newly transformed Guiyuan and agrees that they may discuss the Dao in the future. 3
Contest for the Xuanyuan Controlling Water Flag
Kunpeng and Guiyuan discover the ownerless Heaven-made Xuanyuan Controlling Water Flag. Both desire the treasure, and Kunpeng proposes a spar in which the victor will claim it. 3 4
Kunpeng employs Return to the Void, Peng Strike, and his Wind and Water Combined Strike, but Guiyuan's Eight Gods Return to the Ultimate and Primordial Heavenly Dao overwhelm him. His attempted counterattack with the Kunpeng Nest fails when the treasure is corroded by Twilight of the Gods. Kunpeng concedes the flag and withdraws to recover. 4 5 6
Dao Discussion and Daluo Path
Several thousand years later, Kunpeng returns to Guiyuan's cultivation site seeking a Dao discussion. He expounds his Wind and Water Daos, and Guiyuan advises him to comprehend Yin and Yang through their relationship. 7
This insight breaks Kunpeng's bottleneck, allowing Wind and Water to begin merging into black and white Yin–Yang energies. Grateful for the guidance, he enters secluded cultivation to stabilize this realization and seek Daluo. 7
