Appearance

Dijun bears the severe, majestic presence of an imperial ruler. He is usually depicted in an emperor's robe and crown, surrounded by the authority of the Golden Crow and the Demon Court. 28 36 88

  • Wears the Nine Dragon Emperor Robe and an imperial crown. 36
  • Wears a Golden Crow Emperor Robe embroidered with a flaming Golden Crow totem. 88 125
  • Can manifest a phantom of a Three-legged Golden Crow while wielding Imperial Dragon Qi and True Sun Fire. 108

Personality

Dijun is driven by the goal of unifying Honghuang under the Demon Race. When Hongjun confirms that the Demon Race could attain Sagehood through unification, Dijun immediately treats dominion over the world as his path forward. 19

He is calculating in diplomacy, recognizing Nüwa's value as both a future Sage and a Demon Race Great Sage, and attempting to bind her fate to the Heavenly Court rather than openly alienate her. 29 30 58 His pragmatism is matched by extreme ruthlessness: he is willing to seize Xuanqing for the Demon Race's advantage, use Witch Clan blood for formation refinement, slaughter humans for blood sacrifice, and sacrifice the primordial spirits of invited immortals. 15 107 108 128

Dijun’s composure can collapse when his authority or schemes are challenged. He reacts with rage when Xuanqing confronts the Demon Court, when the Heavenly Court's formations malfunction, and when Tongtian’s formation defeats his defenses. 127 132 133

Abilities & Strategic Assets

True Sun Fire and Imperial Dragon Qi

Dijun commands Golden Crow-derived fire power and an emperor’s aura.

  • Uses True Sun Fire and Imperial Dragon Qi to resist Nüwa’s Saintly pressure. 108
  • Manifests a Three-legged Golden Crow phantom behind himself during the confrontation with Nüwa. 108
  • His resistance is limited against a Saint; Nüwa’s pressure forces the Demon Saints to kneel and drives Dijun back before she deliberately eases it. 108

Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array

Dijun activates the Demon Race’s primary formation weapon against the Witch Clan. 107

  • Forms a river of converging star power above the Heavenly Court. 107
  • Requires the Sun Star and Taiyin Star as formation cores. 107
  • Requires vast blood energy to stabilize and strengthen it. 107
  • Sends Jiuying and Guiche to capture Witch Clan tribes for blood refining, while Shangyang is ordered to gather more flesh and blood. 107
  • The formation is unstable, and the escape of Xihe and Changxi weakens Taiyin Star’s light and fortune within it. 107 124

River Diagram and Luo Book Array

Dijun uses the River Diagram and Luo Book to operate a second large-scale formation during the celestial wedding crisis. 128 130

  • Plans to absorb the primordial spirits of the gathered immortals through the formation. 128
  • Intensifies the array until the Main Hall’s gravity rises by more than ten million times and its suction targets every immortal’s primordial spirit. 130
  • Attempts to use the wider Heavenly Court array to crush the loose immortals. 132
  • The array is compromised by Yin-Yang Dual Qi embedded by the Great Clarity lineage; its defenses ultimately collapse under Tongtian’s sword formation. 132 133

Equipment

  • River Diagram and Luo Book — Dijun’s companion spiritual treasures, used to form and direct his celestial array. 128 133
  • Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array — Heavenly Court’s star-powered formation and principal weapon against the Witch Clan. 107

Relationships

  • Eastern Emperor Taiyi — Younger brother and closest military ally; Taiyi supports Dijun’s plans, follows his orders, and wields the Chaos Bell for the Demon Court. 6 107 108
  • Nüwa — Demon Race Great Sage and later a Saint whom Dijun considers vital to the Demon Race’s future. He repeatedly seeks her support, but she refuses to manage the Heavenly Court’s ordinary affairs or commit to its war against the Witch Clan. 29 67 108
  • Kunpeng — Demon Master of the Demon Race. Dijun offers him the position in exchange for assistance against Xuanqing, later relying on him in formation affairs and blaming him when the Four Heavenly Gates array fails. 7 107 132
  • Baize — Demon Saint and strategist who supports Dijun’s plans for the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array and later intervenes to manage the confrontation with the Western Sages. 107 121 128
  • Xuanqing — Enemy and recurring target. Dijun marks him for retaliation after Purple Cloud Palace, seeks to capture him for the Demon Race, and later attempts to suppress him and the Three Teachings’ disciples in the Heavenly Court. 11 15 127 130
  • Tongtian Cult Leader / Shangqing Daoist — Overwhelming adversary whose sword formation destroys Dijun’s defenses and leaves the Demon Court humiliated. 133 135
  • Dongwanggong — Rival to Dijun’s claim to authority in Honghuang. After opposing Hongjun’s appointment of Dongwanggong as Chief of Immortals, Dijun later orders him to lead Penglai’s loose immortals against the Witch Clan. 10 93

Story Role / Major Arcs

Purple Cloud Palace and the Demon Court’s rise

Dijun travels to Hongjun’s first sermon alongside Taiyi and the other great powers. Yuanshi’s public humiliation of Kunpeng damages the Demon Race’s face, while Hongjun’s appointment of Dongwanggong as Chief of Immortals directly frustrates Dijun’s ambitions. 6 10 11

Following these events, Dijun recruits Kunpeng with the title of Demon Master and agrees to help capture Xuanqing. He views Xuanqing’s merit, fortune, and connection to Yuanshi as resources that could increase the Demon Race’s recognition by the Heavenly Dao. 7 15

Pursuit of unification and Nüwa

After learning that unifying Honghuang could provide a route to Sagehood, Dijun commits fully to the Demon Race’s expansion. He and Taiyi attempt to recruit Nüwa into their grand cause, treating her future Sainthood as essential to countering the Witch Clan. 19 29 30

Nüwa later agrees to protect the Demon Race as its Saint but refuses to govern its affairs or participate in its decisive war. Dijun accepts her protection while continuing to direct the Heavenly Court independently. 67

Human destiny and the Witch-Demon conflict

Dijun identifies humanity’s rapid growth and innate Dao bodies as both a threat and a resource. He orders demon soldiers to plunder human destiny for the Myriad Stars Formation, then later commands Demon Saints to slaughter human tribes and collect their flesh and souls for blood sacrifice. 88 108

Nüwa confronts him over the plan. Dijun defends the sacrifices as necessary for the survival of the Demon Race and the completion of the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array, arguing that Nüwa is also responsible to the Demon Race. 108

Celestial wedding and the Heavenly Court crisis

Dijun arranges a celestial wedding connected to the Taiyin Star, intending to solve the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array’s missing core. Xuanqing helps Xihe and Changxi escape Taiyin Star, destabilizing the formation and throwing the Demon Court into chaos. 107 121 124

During the ensuing banquet conflict, Dijun orders the Demon Saints against the Three Teachings’ disciples and reveals his intent to use the River Diagram and Luo Book Array to absorb every guest’s primordial spirit. 128 130 His formations fail after interference from the Great Clarity lineage, and Tongtian’s sword formation destroys the Starry Sky Barrier, injures Dijun, and breaks the Demon Court’s control of the situation. 132 133 135
