Background / History

Tang Wulin first appears as a Donghai Academy participant at the Tianhai Competition alongside Gu Yue and Xie Xie. He attempts to defeat Wang Zhi through immediate close-range pressure, correctly judging that a summoner should be attacked before their summons can establish control. Despite using the Golden Dragon Claw and repeatedly forcing his way through Wang Zhi’s defenses, he is defeated by Light Shadow Refraction and knocked from the arena. 24 28 29

He fights Wang Zhi again in a three-on-three match with Xie Xie and Gu Yue. Tang Wulin withstands numerous attacks while bloodied and wounded, refusing to fall. The match ends disastrously when Gu Yue’s Soul Skills go out of control; Tang Wulin is left unconscious amid the destroyed arena. 30 32

During the Federation’s campaign against the Star Dou Great Forest, Di Tian abducts Tang Wulin and Gu Yue. Tang Wulin subsequently manifests the Split Soul of Tang San, the Sea God, and confronts Ika with the Golden Dragon Spear. The Split Soul is later left dormant after exhausting much of its power. 124 127 134

After the political collapse surrounding Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect, Tang Wulin disguises himself as an older Tang Sect disciple to board the Federation delegation’s ship to the Star Luo Continent. Wang Zhi immediately sees through the disguise but allows him to proceed. The Star Luo Tang Sect discovers Tang Wulin’s identity as an outsider yet accepts him as a disciple under the designation White Three. 138 139 150

As a White-Rank Dou Practitioner, Tang Wulin joins an expedition into Dragon Valley. His Golden Dragon King bloodline reacts strongly to the Dragon Qi within the minor plane, but Wang Zhi’s Ultimate Darkness begins consuming the entire realm. After Hu Jie helps him flee the Star Luo Empire’s purge, Tang Wulin returns to Tianhai City, where Wang Zhi is waiting. He and his friends are imprisoned, but Tang San’s Divine Sense awakens and breaks them out. Even after suffering repeated injuries in the Tianhai Competition, he continues pressing toward Wang Zhi because he believes reaching the summoner is his only chance to win. He is cautious when operating outside the Federation, concealing his identity and avoiding attention while seeking help from the Tang Sect.
