The Sky Resounded, and Zeus Made His Grand Entrance

A lecherous old god could sleep with other gods' wives and daughters, and team up with his own wife to persecute and slaughter his rivals whenever he pleased. He could do whatever he wanted. What was it that gave him such license?

Did he earn it by toppling the previous tyrant of the God Realm, Cronus?

Give me a break!

Zeus himself was the greatest tyrant of all.

What gave him that power was being the strongest in Olympus—or at least seeming to be.

With that alone, no matter how many heinous things he did, the other factions had to grit their teeth and put up with it.

Even now, he let his father and grandfather stage a comeback, wreaking havoc on the gods' temples and Athens, the greatest holy site in the mortal world, and everyone still tolerated him because of his strength.

For the sake of final victory, they had even turned a blind eye to his conspiring with the Chaos Lord.

All their discontent and anger had been suppressed.

But what if Zeus couldn't win?

Heh! Then that would be a different story!

More than one god had received a discreet message from Artemis, along with an offer from Lein.

After all, dozens of gods had fallen in Chaos recently, leaving plenty of Divine Offices vacant. And some of Chaos's Divine Offices didn't conflict with those of Olympus.

If they defected, they could take over almost seamlessly.

Of course, defecting in front of Zeus and switching sides after Zeus was defeated were two very different propositions—and came with two very different prices.

The clever gods were secretly moving their core believers to the Chaos Continent, offering them to Lein as proof of their good faith.

More gods chose neither to agree on the spot nor to refuse.
