Clear Sky Sect upbringing

Tang Hao and his elder brother Tang Xiao were the two leading talents of their generation in the Clear Sky Sect, collectively praised as the Clear Sky Twin Stars. Their father, Tang Tian, had worsening old injuries and sent both brothers out to gain experience after Tang Hao became a Soul Sage. 151

During their travels, the brothers met Ah Yin and became sworn siblings with her. Both fell for her, but Tang Xiao recognized that Ah Yin loved Tang Hao. 151

Ah Yin and the Martial Soul Hall conflict

An account related to the Blue Silver King states that Tang Hao took Ah Yin to meet his Titled Douluo father despite the danger posed by her identity as a transformed soul beast. Before reaching the sect, they were confronted by a Martial Soul Hall Titled Douluo; Tang Hao broke the opponent’s leg and fled with Ah Yin. The resulting condemnation of the Clear Sky Sect contributed to his father’s death from rage. 38

In that account, Tang Hao later reached Rank 90. When the Martial Soul Hall Pope and two Titled Douluos attacked on the day Tang San was born, Ah Yin sacrificed herself to become Tang Hao’s ninth soul ring, allowing him to become a Titled Douluo. 38

Personality

Tang Hao is proud, domineering, and highly conscious of his reputation as the Clear Sky Douluo. He responds aggressively when insulted, particularly regarding Ah Yin or the death of his father, and initially attempts to solve threats through intimidation or violence. 23 24 96

His pride is tempered by self-preservation. After Snow Empress overwhelms him, he immediately apologizes, kneels, and kowtows to Lin Ye rather than risk death. 24

Despite years of neglecting Tang San, Tang Hao is protective of him. He secretly watches over his son, pressures Yu Xiaogang to ensure Tang San’s safety, asks Flender to care for him at Shrek Academy, and later leaves the Clear Sky Sect with Tang San rather than permit the sect to harm him. 31 36 59 119

He also carries heavy guilt over the damage his actions caused the Clear Sky Sect. When returning to the sect, he kneels before the elders and accepts responsibility while pleading for Tang San to be spared. 97

Tang San’s childhood

Tang Hao lives in Holy Soul Village as an alcoholic, neglectful blacksmith while Tang San cooks, cleans, and manages their home. He initially refuses to allow Tang San to attend a Soul Master Academy because of his hatred for soul masters, but ultimately permits him to leave for Notting City. 10 11 19

Tang Hao reacts intensely when Tang San awakens Blue Silver Grass, recognizing its resemblance to Ah Yin’s martial soul. 11

Conflict with Lin Ye

Tang Hao appears in Notting City to seize Xiao Wu, whom he recognizes as a valuable soul beast. After using his Titled Douluo pressure against Lin Ye and Xiao Wu, he is defeated by Snow Empress and forced to kneel and kowtow ten times to Lin Ye. 23 24
