Background / History

Lin Ye woke as a scrawny child in an orphanage on the Douluo Continent and realized that he had transmigrated. About a month later, Xue Di and Bing Di delivered a parchment left by his future self, along with wealth, Soul Master literature, and instructions intended to shape his new life. He agreed to provide the Ten-Thousand-Year Mysterious Ice Marrow after one hundred years in exchange for their protection. 1 2

He used immortal herbs—the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot—to temper his body in the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well. This preparation enabled him to withstand exceptional soul-ring absorption, beginning with a 3,000-year Cyclops ring. 8 16 17

Lin Ye's future self had apparently interacted with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion a thousand years earlier. In the present, he brought the beast, Lin Qiu'er, away from the Star Dou Great Forest and intended to help her assume human form. 15 17
