While the young wizards were enjoying their holiday, Anduin quietly left the manor and headed to a café beside an opera house on the south bank of the Seine River in Paris.

There, Anduin found Dumbledore, who had been waiting for some time. The old man's strange appearance drew no attention from the Muggles around them. Anduin knew he must have used magic to influence the crowd.

"Good afternoon." When Anduin walked in, Dumbledore lifted the coffee cup in front of him in greeting.

"You're very early. I thought I was late." Anduin could tell Dumbledore had been there for quite a while.

"I couldn't help myself. I simply can't resist good coffee. This place has been in business in Paris for over fifty years. I suggest you try some too." Dumbledore set his cup down and smacked his lips.

"Sounds good, but let's take care of business first."

"Ha ha, young people are so energetic. Unlike an old man like me, who only knows how to enjoy himself." Dumbledore stood and patted his robes. "Come along. Let's get going."

With that, Dumbledore led Anduin through the café's back door and along the narrow lanes of the residential district until they reached an utterly inconspicuous dead end.

"Nicolas Flamel lives in a place like this?"

Anduin raised his eyebrows in surprise. He had imagined the legendary alchemist living in some remote mountain forest, and thought Dumbledore would Apparate them there after they met. He hadn't expected that the only reason Dumbledore had asked him to come to the café was that it was nearby.

"Why not? Nicolas may be living in seclusion, but that doesn't mean he wants to be a hermit. A quiet place in the middle of the city is far more discreet than some desolate wilderness." Dumbledore
