"I'm Harry, Harry Potter. Are you Sirius Black, my godfather?" Harry asked, eyeing the bearded man in front of him with some uncertainty. Sirius looked nothing like he'd imagined.
In the photographs Anduin had shown him, Sirius had looked like a carefree young man. He should only have been in his thirties now, but Black looked so haggard that you could easily take him for someone in his forties or fifties.
"Harry!" Sirius stared at Harry, his expression torn. Unable to help himself, he stepped forward and grabbed Harry by the shoulders. "I'm sorry. I've wronged you, and your parents even more. I'm a sinner! I'm the one who caused your family's ruin!"
Hearing Sirius mention his family, and moved by Sirius's emotion, Harry's eyes began to redden. He shook his head firmly. "No! You can't be blamed for that. If anyone's to blame, it's Peter Pettigrew and Voldemort, the real culprit!"
"Th-then... are you willing to forgive me?" Sirius asked, meeting Harry's gaze in disbelief.
"Ever since I learned the truth, I've never blamed you for their deaths. Uncle Wilson taught me to look past appearances and see the truth. You did what you did with good intentions. You didn't betray my parents. Don't blame yourself for someone else's mistakes!"
Harry looked at Sirius with clear, determined eyes. Although this was their first meeting, he could feel the sincerity in Black's emotions.
