The Gods' Schemes!
Night deepened.
Inside a room in the Lord's Manor, Duncan sat in the seat of honor, with Raven Queen Triss and Anya seated across from each other at either side. Until he reclaimed London and the other territories, Southampton would serve as his Governor's Mansion.
He truly disliked living in castle fortresses.
Candlelight flickered.
Anya, seated to his left, listened with rapt attention. When she heard how Duncan had seized the Sea Serpent Monster by the head and smashed it against the reefs, she seemed to be right there herself, a captivating flush appearing on her lovely face. Anya was indeed prone to blushing all over, especially when she was particularly excited. As she listened to Duncan recount his experiences in the north, her heart surged with emotion, and her long legs crossed and rubbed lightly together.
Raven Queen Triss, on the other hand, sat as quietly as a beautiful statue from Ancient Greece. She was not surprised that Duncan had slain the sea monster; in her eyes, Duncan's strength had already come very close to that of the heroes of Ancient Greek legends.
However, upon hearing about the giant and the Mother of Monsters, Raven Queen Triss was finally moved. A trace of lingering fear appeared on her face as she said, "That was far too risky!"
"That Mother of Monsters was clearly a primitive Shamanic Cult deity from the Dark Ages."
"After the Norse Pantheon unified Germania and Scandinavia, many deities of primitive religions perished or were even assimilated by them."
The Norse Gods had fought their way to where they were as well. In the past, they had destroyed and absorbed quite a few other divine faiths.
That was not Duncan's main concern. He took out a bundle that gave off a thick stench
