A massive stone city wall stretched across the view, its gray-white surface gilded warm yellow by the setting sun.
The wall was towering, even a little thicker than Bronze City's Outer City wall. Yet there were no inscriptions on it, none of that bronze texture covered in patterns. It was simply built of solid stone.
City guards stood watch at the gate. Seeing such a long convoy slowly approaching, several of them straightened at once.
Lu Yuan's convoy was far too conspicuous. More than a dozen vehicles, Night Watcher troop carriers guarding the front and rear, and large carriages full of residents in the middle. One glance from afar was enough to tell they were no ordinary merchant caravan.
A captain of the city guard hurried over. He first glanced at the Night Watcher insignia hanging from the lead carriage, then looked at Lu Yuan's face. Black hair and black eyes—he was instantly recognizable.

The necessary procedures were followed: registration, verification of the Night Watchers and residents, and a vehicle-by-vehicle count.
The guard then pulled out a palm-sized gray-white stone from his belt and swept it over the convoy from a distance.
Lu Yuan recognized the item.
It was similar to the Holy Light Stone Margaret had given him, only cruder. Its surface had not been polished as finely, and its stone patterns were far more disordered.
This crude sort of stone barely reacted from afar. It had to be held close before it changed color. The guard merely gave
