Bronze City hardly had anything like this. The entire city reeked of bronze rust and was covered in Inscription patterns; even weeds could not grow by the roadside. This place was different. When he pushed open the window, everything in sight was green. Creepers grew at the base of the walls, vines climbed the rooftops, and fields of rice stretched into the distance, gleaming dark green in the morning light.
He withdrew his gaze and got dressed.
Last night's loss of contact still weighed on his mind. The Communication Crystal had clearly been interfered with, but he was in Oak Forest City and could not reach it. Worrying would do nothing.
He had more pressing matters. First, he needed to complete the handover at the Oak Forest City Night Watcher branch. Deliver the people, file the documents, coordinate clearly with the local branch, then hurry back.
