Lu Yuan returned from Oak Forest City as Bronze City's defenders fought an escalating Ghoul invasion and pursued the special individuals below ground. The team descended past the Bronze Pillars and reached a massive figure in the darkness that noticed them.

• Lu Yuan stayed in Oak Forest City, received potions from Isabella, studied potion-making and Ancient Music Theory, and left after two days with Boer and the Night Watchers.
• Klaus and the Great Ascendant organized underground assaults as Ghoul attacks worsened, but a highly contaminated, mouthless creature evaded the defenders and escaped deeper underground.
• Lu Yuan returned to a besieged Bronze City, joined Klaus's team, and helped fight the Ghouls as a Chimera and a blood-covered special Great Ghoul emerged from the Collapse Pit.
• Klaus's team followed the Red Shadow past Forest Seeds and reached a Bronze Pillar, where Lu Yuan touched it and obtained the Bronze City fragment, bringing his total to 3/5.
• Two more Special Individuals attacked the team, and the Ghouls surged forward after a huge heartbeat as new Collapse Pits opened across Bronze City.
• Leike, the Hooded Night Watcher, and the city's defenders fought Chimeras and a blood-colored Special Individual, which escaped into the Collapse Pit as the Inner City wall inscription went dark.
• Klaus decided to continue deeper despite the strengthened Ghouls, and Lu Yuan followed the team through a flesh wall after suppressing the Drowner's fear.
• Lu Yuan's team found Bronze Pillars and a massive figure rising and falling in the darkness, and the figure noticed them.

As the fourth Fragment was found, the sealed Flesh beneath Bronze City awakened and spread through the city, while the Golden Crown’s corruption broke the Copper Wall. The Guardian and the Person on the Wall joined forces to halt the destruction, leaving Lu Yuan still unable to locate the fifth Fragment.

• Selina led the mentors to the Copper Wall, where their Flesh and chanting revealed the Seven-Eyed Crown, and the Person on the Wall ordered her to retrieve all the Flesh.
• Lu Yuan and Klaus descended into the Abyss, where Lu Yuan found the fourth Fragment and learned that the bound Flesh was a severed limb from an existence above the Starry Sky.
• Adrian summoned a golden eye that weakened the Flesh and let the group escape, but Bronze City soon faced widespread collapses, Ghoul attacks, and a spreading white mist.
• The Golden Crown forced its way through the failing Copper Wall, and the Blue Knight and Lu Yuan descended to investigate as the wall sank into the Abyss.
• The Blue Knight rejected the Crown’s promise of the Fifth Order and threw it into the Abyss, but the corrupted Flesh continued spreading through Bronze City.
• The West Wall transformed into a living Flesh Wall, while Flesh erupted from Collapse Pits and consumed Night Watchers across the city.
• The Guardian and the Person on the Wall combined their powers to suppress the Special Individuals and hold back the Flesh, allowing Klaus to order residents into the Branch.

As the Starry Sky Flesh overwhelmed Bronze City, Lu Yuan seized the Sea of Knowledge and fought to contain the Crown of Ten Thousand Kings while the Guardian and Leike made desperate sacrifices. Lu Yuan advanced as a Forbidden Studies Scholar, but the Starry Sky Flesh fused with the Crown, leaving the struggle unresolved.

• The Flesh Wall engulfed Bronze City, and Arthur Heinz sacrificed himself to open the Sea of Knowledge Rift while Lu Yuan took control of the sea.
• Lu Yuan learned that the Crown of Ten Thousand Kings sealed the threat beneath the city, but its corrupted gems resisted his control as he held the rift open.
• Klaus and the others escaped aboard the Sky-Seeking Fortress while Lu Yuan stayed behind to battle the Crown with the Sea of Knowledge and the Worms of Knowledge.
• The Guardian became the Pale Eye and damaged the Crown, then resisted an emerging eerie consciousness before dying as black-and-white rain fell over Bronze City.
• Leike took the Guardian’s core and potion, consumed the core’s energy, and used the Person on the Wall’s help to reach the pinnacle of Fifth Order.
• Lu Yuan entered the hidden halls of Forbidden Studies, met Oden and the other ancient scholars, and advanced to Forbidden Studies—Scholar.
• Oden possessed the Drowner, but the Starry Sky Flesh overwhelmed him with Taboo power and fused with the Crown of Ten Thousand Kings.

Lu Yuan fought the newborn Taboo by opening the Sea of Knowledge into reality, while Leike borrowed Authority to hold the creature back. The battle devastated Bronze City, and Lu Yuan began fusing Leike with Hope as the survivors prepared to rebuild.

• Lu Yuan opened the Sea of Knowledge Rift and stripped power from the Crown of Ten Thousand Kings, but the remaining Flesh became a newborn Taboo.
• Leike led the Swarm Insects into the Inner City, and Lu Yuan gave him temporary Authority that transformed him into a Taboo able to fight the newborn creature.
• Lu Yuan widened the rift to bring the Sea of Knowledge into reality, flooding the battlefield and weakening the newborn Taboo as Oden and the Worms of Knowledge carried him to safety.
• The newborn Taboo summoned colossal roots from another world, and the Sea of Knowledge, the City of Chains, and the Person on the Wall converged on the battlefield.
• The Crown of Ten Thousand Kings and the borrowed crowns shattered, leaving Leike's Swarm Insects exposed, while the newborn Taboo completed its transformation into a being of branches.
• Lu Yuan forced the rift shut, pulling the newborn Taboo and the green world back into the Sea of Knowledge, while A.M. and the Great Ascendant departed.
• Lu Yuan found Leike gravely damaged and used Hope's roots to begin fusing with him, while Bronze City reached 51/51 and Lu Yuan gained Nonexistent Fate.
• At dawn, Lu Yuan saw Night Watchers escorting the grieving shelter residents to temporary homes and asked Klaus whether they had enough people to rebuild.
