As researchers searched a heretical inscription, events in the Northern Territory turned deadly and the Rock Grand Knight Commander began investigating everyone involved.

• Lu Yuan crafted a Heart-Scraping Lamp, passed the Intermediate Inscription Certification, and accepted potion and inscription assignments at the Hanging Tower.
• Lu Yuan joined the Lantern Knight’s effort to identify a contaminating heretic potion and agreed to help Rock Grand Knight Commander study a dangerous sacrificial formation.
• Rock Grand Knight Commander’s Pocket Watch awakened Lu Yuan’s Time Bestower, whose new consciousness Oden protected with Eerie inscriptions.
• Rock warned Lu Yuan that the underground formation was highly contaminated and tied to an entity at least Fifth Order, then brought him to research its surviving inscriptions.
• Lu Yuan searched the inscription books, identified a captive as a Withered Glory Society believer, and learned from Oden that the society might now worship a Taboo.
• In the Northern Territory, Brunkel’s harsh screening of refugees ended with a Viscount’s death and Heretics surrounding the Blue Knight and the other inspectors.
• Rock discovered the captive Heretic had split open and died, began checking everyone involved in the inscription research, and Lu Yuan finished his shift before joining the potion team.

Lu Yuan investigated dangerous potions and helped identify the Withered Glory Society, but his experiments with the Pathway Mutation Potion pulled him and Frey into the Land of the Dead Silence. As they searched for a way through its fog-shrouded wasteland, a prophecy sent the Astrologer Grand Knight Commander and Eli toward the Northern Territory.

• The Lantern Knight vouched for Lu Yuan’s abilities, and Blanca told him the Northern Territory was preparing for a major mobilization near Withered City.
• Oden warned Lu Yuan that the Sea of Knowledge could erase his consciousness, while Lu Yuan joined Frey Blanc’s potion research group and identified the danger of Plague Water.
• Lu Yuan rescued Frey from a phantom, then helped identify the Withered Glory Society and agreed to reconstruct the Pathway Mutation Potion that had erased her memories.
• Lu Yuan separated and concentrated the potion’s ingredients, revealing a nearly invisible fragment that drew his consciousness and Frey into the Land of the Dead Silence.
• Oden tried to reach Lu Yuan but was swept into the Sea of Knowledge, while Lu Yuan and Frey realized they were trapped in a wasteland where four days had passed in seconds outside.
• Lu Yuan and Frey set out toward a distant mountain as Oden drifted through a sea of words and the Astrologer Grand Knight Commander recognized that his prophecy had begun.

Lu Yuan protected Frey in the Land of the Dead Silence, fought the Withered Glory Society Heretics, and reunited with the Blue Knight and Brunkel. The group set out for a Wanderer camp, while Brunkel identified Frey as the Holy Sovereign’s Seed and Lu Yuan refused to hand her over.

• Lu Yuan and Frey fled through the fog as the Land of the Dead Silence eroded Frey’s sanity, and Lu Yuan killed pursuing Heretics while gaining experience and resistance to the contamination.
• Lu Yuan carried Frey to a Wanderer camp, where they found Heretics performing a Purification Ritual over a dead Wanderer, and he killed them and learned how they tracked camps and transformed captives.
• Lu Yuan and Frey left for another camp as the Blue Knight and Brunkel fought through the Heretics, their injuries and the world’s contamination leaving them struggling to survive.
• Lu Yuan and Frey joined the battle, and Lu Yuan killed the Heretics surrounding the Blue Knight and Brunkel before defeating a Fourth Order Heretic leader.
• The Blue Knight and Brunkel agreed to travel with Lu Yuan and Frey after he warned them that reinforcements might arrive, and Lu Yuan learned they had been dragged into the world during the Northern Territory Mission.
• Lu Yuan explained how he and Frey had entered the Land of the Dead Silence and led the group toward the Wanderer camp, but Brunkel recognized Frey as the Holy Sovereign’s Seed and Lu Yuan refused to give her up.
