"Hello, Horikita, Ayanokoji."
Ichinose Honami greeted the two visitors from Class D warmly in the Class B base camp.
"Ayanokoji, I'm truly sorry about Kanzaki and the others spying on us this morning."
Ayanokoji Kiyotaka shook his head, having nothing to say.
"Shiina, over here, come quickly!" Ichinose spotted a certain silver-haired girl and called out.
Shiina Hiyori put down her bucket and walked over curiously. "Ichinose, is something wrong?"
Horikita asked doubtfully, "Isn't this Shiina from Class C? We met at the cafe before. Why are you in Class B?"
Last time, when we signed the three-rule contract, weren't there two other girls beside Tennoji Kaede? Ibuki was in D, and Shiina was in B?
What is Class C up to?
Horikita couldn't figure it out, her head starting to hurt even more...
"Well, Shiina was ostracized by Ryuen from Class C, and she's temporarily staying with us in Class B under Tennoji's protection."
Ichinose excitedly hugged one of Shiina's arms, happily nuzzling her. "Aww~ Shiina is just too cute. It would be great if you could really join Class B."
"Ichinose..."
Hiyori was helpless. She had only been here for a little over a day, and the enthusiastic atmosphere of Class B was already becoming overwhelming.
Looking around, not a single person seems like a real bad guy!
Hiyori truly understood what Kaede had meant about the difference between BC.
Horikita had been feeling quite dejected since the start of the Deserted Island Exam due to her physical condition. "We'll investigate Class C further later. Ichinose, what are your thoughts on Class A?"
"Class A? They're hiding in a cave, keeping everyone out. They've been very mysterious, and we haven't gotten any information."
Horikita secretly glanced at Ayanokoji, who nodded silently.
"I have an important piece of information about Class A's leader. I hope we can trade it with Class B from our class's perspective!"
Ichinose looked surprised.
"So, you're saying Class A's leader is either Katsuragi Kouhei or Tozuka Yahiko?" Ichinose mused.
Just moments ago, Class B and Class D had signed an agreement not to suspect each other's leaders. It was an equal contract with no exchange of benefits, perfectly fitting the natural friendly relationship between Class BD.
And Class D, as the initiator, had even shared this important information with Class B.
Hiyori was also present at the signing and had learned this as well.
This was permitted by both Class BD.
Because according to the information Horikita had received, Ryuen's group was also present in front of the cave at the time. It was clear that Class C also knew this information, so they didn't avoid Hiyori, who had been ostracized by Class C.
"That's right! We BD can work together to find Class A's true leader!" Horikita said excitedly.
"I'm sorry, Horikita," Ichinose said apologetically. "For this Deserted Island Exam, Class B will absolutely not try to guess any class's leader."
Horikita was shocked. "What! Why?"
"To be honest, besides the Water Well stronghold within this base camp, Class B hasn't occupied any other strongholds. Or rather, I don't know if we have occupied any..."
So that's Class B's strategy, Ayanokoji understood.
"Huh? Ichinose, what do you mean? Class B's leader... wait!"
Horikita glanced at Shiina from Class C beside her and didn't continue asking, but her confusion was evident.
Ichinose awkwardly traced her smooth cheek with her finger, looking embarrassed.
She said, "Actually, I don't know who Class B's leader is. Everyone in Class B doesn't know..."
"What!? Wait, could it be that Class B didn't elect a leader internally, but chose one randomly!"
Horikita understood the truth and her eyes widened in disbelief.
Ichinose nodded. "When the Deserted Island Exam began, I instructed everyone that the leader would be randomly selected by Teacher Hoshinomia. The chosen person was not to tell anyone in the class. Apart from checking in at the Water Well inside the stronghold, they were not to check in at any other stronghold outside the base camp!"
"Therefore, Class B will not try to guess any leader information. Even if another class's leader's Keycard is right in front of me, I, Ichinose, swear that I will not try to guess it on the Seventh Day!"
Ayanokoji closed his eyes slightly. This was the most unsolvable defensive strategy.
Even if Shiina Hiyori was Class C's traitor, could she really stake out the Water Well check-in point 24 hours a day to spy?
Class B wasn't foolish.
Horikita, who was Class D's exam leader, was now completely silenced by Class B's perfect defensive strategy.
"I understand."
"Don't be like that, Horikita. We've already signed a Peace Contract, and Class B is still willing to help Class D find Class A's leader."
Horikita was very grateful. Afterward, she and Ayanokoji prepared to head to Class C's base camp for their appointment to gather the last piece of information from another class.
The Beach Carnival scene before them made Horikita freeze once again.
"What is Class C up to now?"
BBQ equipment, beach volleyball, chairs and umbrellas, snacks and drinks, even jet skis.
What Horikita saw was Class C acting as if they were truly on vacation!
"Yo, Suzune... and your little follower. I knew you'd come. Come sit down."
At the center of the beach, Ryuen was relaxing under an umbrella, enthusiastically greeting Horikita and Suzune.
Horikita wasn't intimidated. The exam rules prohibited violence in public places, so she had nothing to fear.
"Are you guys in Class C giving up on this exam?"
Ryuen sneered. "I'm not like you, Suzune. You'd run around frantically for a measly hundred-plus class points."
"By the way, why don't you guys in Class D join the fun? Anyway, all you need is another special exam that favors weaklings like you, just like last time. Why bother working so hard?"
"You've all gone mad. Just keep sinking, Class C. Next semester, you'll be Class D."
Ryuen burst into laughter.
Ayanokōji noticed a wireless walkie-talkie on a table next to Ryuen.
And not far away, near a plastic table, the figure of Tennoji Kaede was sitting alone, seemingly detached from the class.
Horikita clearly noticed this too, frowned, and decided not to say anything more.
"Wait, Suzune."
Ryuen suddenly called out, stopping the two of them.
"What else do you want?"
"Don't be so wary, Suzune. To reward you for the great fun you gave me during the last Tian Shu Sha Exam, I'll give you a prize this time too."
Just as Horikita was about to speak, a light green card flew towards her chest.
Although her reaction time had slowed a bit, she managed to raise her hand and catch the card by cushioning its impact with her body.
Horikita's hand trembled slightly. It was an object she was very familiar with.
"Ryuen, Sho..."
She read out the names displayed on the card.
This was Class C's leader keycard.
