Background / History
Ryuen entered First Year Class C and rapidly seized control through violence. On his first day, he assaulted Ishizaki Daichi, declared himself Class C’s sole leader, and used fear to suppress opposition. He also tested the school’s tolerance for violence and its hidden rules through his actions. 4
His attempt to intimidate Tennoji Kaede ended in a decisive defeat at the Special Classroom Building. Rather than submit, Ryuen found Kaede’s strength and apparent knowledge of him intriguing; the two subsequently formed a pragmatic partnership built on their shared interest in advancing their class. 4 5
Under Ryuen’s rule, Class C divided into a Tyrant Faction led by Ryuen and the male students, a Kaede Faction centered on Hiyori, Ibuki, and Kushida, and a lower-ranking remainder. Ryuen and Kaede maintained a tacit understanding despite their competing influence. 35
Ryuen later stepped down following his defeat by Ayanokoji during the rooftop confrontation. Afterward, Kaede disclosed that he had manipulated events around both Ryuen and Ayanokoji and ordered Ryuen to transfer classes. 155 157 158
Ryuen eventually transferred from Class A to Ichinose’s Class C. Though his arrival unsettled the class, he declared that his aim was to drive Class C past Sakayanagi’s Class B and restore it to the top. 183 184

Despite his brutality, he is highly perceptive and willing to recognize superior strength. His defeat by Kaede leads him to cooperate with him, while his suspicion of Ayanokoji grows from seemingly minor inconsistencies in Class D’s behavior. 5 35 90
Ryuen values challenge above comfort. After becoming dissatisfied with the lack of stimulating opposition, he becomes increasingly fixated on Ayanokoji as a possible rival. His rooftop defeat forces him to experience fear and confront the reality that both Ayanokoji and Kaede are beyond his current level. 126 155 157
