Background

Ayanokoji enrolls at Advanced Nurturing High School as a member of Class D. At the school gate, he meets Tennoji Kaede and Horikita Suzune after all three had been involved in a dispute on the bus. Although he initially judges Kaede to be merely an unusually capable ordinary student, Kaede's sudden change in aura makes him consider whether Kaede could be connected to the White Room. 2

His connection to the White Room remains largely undisclosed. Kaede later explains that he had heard of and briefly observed an elite-education facility, which is why he recognized Ayanokoji; Ayanokoji does not confirm the details.
