Gu Yue was already Leng Yaozhu’s Personal Disciple when Huo Yuhao arrived in Eastsea City. She studied at Tianhai Academy and later entered Eastsea Academy alongside him, becoming his junior sister under Leng Yaozhu. Their first meeting was a dinner arranged by their teacher, where Gu Yue learned that Huo Yuhao possessed the Spirit Eyes and had reached the Spirit Sea Realm in mental power. His name and martial soul stirred complicated feelings in her because of the Spirit Ice Douluo’s historical connection to the Spirit Pagoda and the Soul Beast race. 47 52

Initially concealing her nature behind the identity of an Elementalist, Gu Yue privately contacted Di Tian to investigate Huo Yuhao. She sought to reclaim the Golden Dragon King bloodline from Tang Wulin as part of her larger goal of reviving the Soul Beasts. 56 61 65
