History

Origins

The Dragon Hunting Tower originated during the Second Tribulation. During the period's final great conflict, it seized the Burning Chaos Furnace from Huofen Heaven's Burning Dao Furnace. Under its enigmatic Tower Master, it subsequently began hunting Body Dao geniuses throughout the Heavens. 504

Its targets have included many future Great Emperors before they fully matured, including the World-Slaughtering Emperor. During their conflict, the World-Slaughtering Emperor tore apart three of the Tower's Hunyuan, awakening the taboo existence concealed within the organization. 403 505

The Scapegoat Incidents

Wu Dao and the Stealing Heaven Alliance repeatedly impersonated Dragon Hunters to abduct Dao Seeds, raid gathering sites, and hunt cultivators. Their disguises copied the Tower's black robes, leaderless-dragon totems, Reverse Dragon Tyrant Body, Dragon Severing Technique, and Immortal-Binding Ropes. 327 340 406

The false-flag raids caused the Heavens to blame the Dragon Hunting Tower for the Taiyi Emperor Star and Huanwu Mountain incidents. The Tower had actually remained inactive after the initial backlash, but a genuine operation launched at an unfortunate time made the accusations appear credible. 353

The resulting coalition assault severely damaged the Tower: half of its nine-story black tower was shattered and many Saint-level members were killed. Despite this, the organization escaped after its pursuers sensed an overwhelmingly dangerous presence sleeping within its depths. 353

Hunt for Wu Dao

The Tower later identified Wu Dao as a priority target. Its Burning Chaos Furnace can monitor exceptional Body Dao physiques, and Wu Dao's Meta-Magnetic Dao Body was regarded as an exceptionally valuable target. 499

Dragon Hunters ambushed one of Wu Dao's incarnations in the Qingming World using Dragon Severing Technique, Reverse Dragon Tyrant Body, and Immortal-Binding Ropes. The attack confirmed that the Tower possessed a method of locating body-tempering cultivators, with stronger physiques being easier for it to sense. 402

After learning the Tower's Ninth Heaven Pass coordinates, Wu Dao discovered that it was preparing to deploy its full strength against him from the Primordial Void. 505

Dragon Hunters are the Tower's field operatives. They are distinguished by black robes bearing blood-soaked leaderless-dragon totems, indistinct hooded faces, white draconic force, and advanced hard-tempering cultivation. 340

The Tower's members are infamous for hunting body cultivators in every era, a practice blamed for the decline of hard tempering throughout the Heavens. 327

The Heavenly Court reached the depths of the Tower during the joint crusade but failed to force out its ultimate foundation. It encountered an unknown Dao Artifact and detected indications of an even deeper, greatly inauspicious existence. 416
