If She Were Going to Be Obedient, She Wouldn't Be Called Jinx

It takes quite a bit of time to clean an entire house.

So, Li Ke focused on cleaning some areas, like the rooms they would be staying in and the bathroom.

After finishing everything, he and Jinx found a spot in the middle corridor to eat something, and it was already nighttime.

"Li Ke, can't we sleep together tonight? I don't want to sleep alone."

In the middle corridor at night, on the second floor of the house, Li Ke was wearing pajamas. Although the material wasn't great, it was much more comfortable than rags.

He looked at Jinx, who had come to his door holding a pillow. She had just finished bathing, her loose Blue Hair was still wet and clinging to her body, and she was wearing a Pink Nightgown she had bought from the store that afternoon. She stretched her neck, looking at Li Ke with a hopeful expression on her face.

After thinking for a moment, Li Ke nodded and stepped aside.

"Come in."

Being with Jinx helps increase the Energy Bar!

Li Ke certainly wouldn't miss this opportunity. He was even thinking about how to spend more time with Jinx. If this little Jinx offered herself up, why would he refuse?

Putting aside the fact that little Jinx could increase his Energy Bar, just based on her beauty, Li Ke didn't see any reason to refuse, right?

Receiving Li Ke's agreement, Jinx cheered while holding her pillow and then, with her head down, rushed into Li Ke's room.

This small house had two floors in total, with two rooms on the lower floor and three rooms on the upper floor. It was considered a relatively large house, but Jinx insisted on sleeping with Li Ke.

Lying on the bed, Jinx's legs kicked restlessly. She held a Storybook and looked at Li Ke.

"Do you want to hear a bedtime story?" she asked Li Ke.

Li Ke immediately shook his head.

Listen to Jinx's stories?

He had heard them quite a bit these past few days!

But strangely, even though Jinx was holding a Storybook, the stories she told were completely different from what was written in it.

Jinx, with her scattered thoughts, always added her own things to the Storybook. She would deviate from the original text as she spoke, using exaggerated tones and dramatic gestures to perform for Li Ke.

Things like the Horrible Stinky Bug and the Sharp-Toothed Monster. Li Ke had asked Jinx in detail what kind of creatures they were, because they sounded very powerful. Then she would fall silent and start stammering, changing the subject.

If Li Ke asked a few more questions and pushed her too hard, Jinx would even hit him.

Truly uncivilized.

He turned off the light and looked at Jinx. He saw that Jinx was sleeping facing him.

Her small mouth was slightly open, sucking on her thumb, which was painted with Nail Polish. She curled up like a cat. The sleeping Jinx was as well-behaved as a beautiful Kitten, with all the madness and neuroses she usually carried gone, making her extremely quiet.

Perhaps due to a lack of security, unease always surrounded her. When she slept, she would curl up, a sight that inevitably evoked pity.

Li Ke watched, then reached out to stroke the hair on his forehead before closing his eyes as well.

Interestingly, Jinx was no longer sleeping with her back to him. She was now facing him.

This was good news, indicating Jinx's trust in Li Ke had increased. Although, there wasn't much difference between Jinx's front and back; both were as solid as can be...

Morning came, and Li Ke got out of bed, rubbing his sore right arm. Looking down, he saw water stains on his sleeve. Jinx had already woken up before him, changed her clothes, and was now squatting on a chair, fiddling with a Small Toy she'd somehow acquired.

"Are we going out to make money today?"

"Yes, but you have to stay home today," Li Ke told Jinx.

"Stay home?" Jinx slammed the toy onto the table and looked at Li Ke. "Didn't we agree to make money together?"

"But we haven't discussed our money-making plan in detail yet. I'm just going out to check things out today. I'll be back in the evening," Li Ke picked up his clothes, put them on, then looked back at Jinx, smiling as he asked, "What do you want to eat tonight?"

Jinx was clearly unhappy. Hearing Li Ke's voice, she hugged her knees and mumbled, "Anything is fine."

"Then I'm leaving," Li Ke smiled and put on his Hat.

Sevika had already seen him and Jinx. Now, Silco should know too. The Gutter would surely be in an uproar, with Silco's people searching everywhere for him and Jinx.

Walking downstairs, Li Ke exited the house. Looking back, he saw Jinx leaning out the window, watching him. When their eyes met, she waved.

Seeing this, Li Ke raised his hand and waved back.

Then, Li Ke adjusted his Hat and headed towards the densely populated areas.

After some time, Li Ke understood the situation in the Gutter.

Just as Li Ke had thought, the Gutter was, damn it, chaotic once again.

Silco's people were barging into various places and had even issued a decree to the Alchemical Barons, asking them to help find Jinx.

This resulted in a large crowd in the mid-level plaza today, with many people fleeing the Gutter to escape.

What Li Ke didn't know was that about ten minutes after he left, the door to the small building was pushed open. A figure in a Cloak crept out stealthily, a flash of blue at the very end being particularly eye-catching.

"What are you thinking? If I were obedient, I wouldn't be called Jinx," she said.

Taking long strides, Jinx walked backward down an alley in the mid-level plaza, sticking her tongue out playfully at the path ahead.

Then, she took out a can from her hand. Glancing around to see no one, she began her masterpiece of graffiti.

Li Ke going out, and then letting her stay home?

Heh, what a joke, she absolutely refused.

Being home alone was too boring!

Licking her lips, Jinx shook the can in her hand and sprayed paint onto the wall.

"That's the way~"

"Mmm, a bit more here, cool~"

"Wow, I really am a genius!"

The more she painted, the more absorbed she became. Jinx started to jog, the spray can leaving a crooked, uneven blue line on the dilapidated wall. She was beaming with excitement.

"Ouch!"

She suddenly bumped into something. Jinx stumbled backward, landing on the ground and rubbing her head. Then, she looked at the little thing that had crashed into her arms.

Wearing a small gray-black jacket, mismatched yellow pants on the bottom, and a fluffy, messy mop of brown hair, it looked up with big, orange-yellow eyes, staring at her in fear. It looked exactly like a scruffy puppy.

"She's over here!"

"Fuck, she really can run!"

"Finally cornered her!"

Sounds came from the depths of the alley. Several tattooed men rushed out, and behind them, more men appeared, blocking the alley entrance.

The scruffy puppy immediately looked over, instinctively burrowing into Jinx's arms. It bristled, looking at the group of men who had appeared.

Jinx first looked down in surprise at the little one snuggled against her, then at the group in front of her, rolling her eyes.

This was really nothing new.

Jinx had encountered plenty of situations where Zaun's Alchemical Barons were chasing down little brats. It didn't matter if they captured the brats to add to their internal ranks or sent them to work in the mines and wastewater pools; in short, few orphans living in the gutter grew up safely.

"Hey, you're crushing me."

Jinx reached out and poked the little brat's back.

The little girl ignored Jinx.

The men also walked up to Jinx.

Reaching out, they were about to grab the child.

The child struggled forcefully, and as she raised her hand, she accidentally hit Jinx's hood.

The cloak fell away, her blue hair and braids unfurling. Jinx lazily reached up to scratch the back of her neck, then raised her head.

"This has nothing to do with you. Get lost, and stay lost."

The man in the lead froze. He stared at Jinx's face, startled. "You—"

This face. He'd only gotten a photo of it from his boss last night. The entire Gutter was looking for her!

Jinx smiled, the corners of her mouth curling up. The hand that had been scratching her neck slid quickly down to her left pants pocket. With a swish, she pulled out a Pistol.

"Hello there~"

Her small mouth closed and opened again. Jinx squinted one eye:

"Bang~"
