Background / History

Lissandra was the youngest of the legendary Three Sisters of Freljord, alongside Avarosa and Serylda. In humanity's early struggle to survive against Freljord's demigods, she fought Volibear and lost her eyes, but survived; during the darkness that followed, she developed her Dreamwalking ability. 200 203 207

Possessing magical talent greater than either sister, Lissandra heard the Void and borrowed its power in pursuit of a path for humanity. When she recognized that the Void was uncontrollable, she betrayed Avarosa and Serylda, sacrificed much of Freljord's population, and froze the Void and the Frost Watchers beneath the Howling Abyss. 207

For nearly ten thousand years, Lissandra remained hidden in Frostguard Citadel, reinforcing the seals and concealing Freljord's history through periodic purges. Her actions made her both the source of immense suffering and the sole long-term defender against the Void. 207 216
