Thor and Sif, eager to return, had desperately rushed towards Asgard with Guan Heng and the others.
Just as everyone was about to enter the gates of Asgard, the sky underwent a strange transformation. Vast dark clouds blotted out the sun, and under a chilling gale, they drifted in from the distant horizon, plunging the entire world into darkness. The surrounding temperature began to drop sharply.
The sudden drop in temperature... Guan Heng knew something was wrong. He subtly put on his knuckle dusters, ready for anything.
The moisture in the air slowly condensed into frost flowers, dancing in the biting wind.
Just as everyone stood dumbfounded, unsure of what was happening, an incredibly thick bolt of lightning, blue all over, struck down from the clouds and hit the entrance of Asgard. After the dazzling blue lightning vanished, a frost flower hundreds of meters across had formed where the lightning struck. In the center of the frost flower stood a line of bald, tall, burly men, all glowing with a faint blue light, along with two mountain-sized, four-legged creatures.
Seeing this scene, Guan Heng, Thor, and Sif simultaneously let out a gasp.
Jotunheim had many different races of giants, including Frost Giants, Mountain Giants, Frost Giants, Wind Giants, and Ice Giants. Among all the giant races, the primary enemies of the Asgardian gods were the Frost Giants.
The Frost Giants were not highly skilled in combat arts, but their sheer size and strength were terrifying, making them formidable opponents, even for the Asgardian gods.
These behemoths possessed superhuman strength and resistance to physical damage. The flesh and bones of giants were about three times denser than similar human tissues, contributing to their superhuman strength and weight. They were also exceptionally long-lived.
The feud between the giants and the gods could be traced back to the death of Ymir; it was an unresolvable grudge.
At least in Thor's eyes, this grudge needed to be washed away with the enemy's blood. The God of Thunder roared, and Mjolnir instantly appeared in his hand.
Opposite them were six or seven Frost Giants, in addition to two Frost Giant Beasts. But even if he had to fight a hundred, what was there to fear?
Thor unleashed the peerless aura of the God of Thunder and said in a deep voice, "Vermin! How dare you repeatedly trespass upon my Asgard! I will not spare you! Sif, let's charge!"
Sif, worthy of being called a heroine among the gods, with a spear in one hand and a shield in the other, charged into the enemy ranks with Thor. The battle against the Frost Giants and Giant Beasts commenced, and a fierce fight immediately broke out.
"Since that's the case, then I too..." Iron Man was about to charge forward when Guan Heng grabbed him. "Are you crazy? This is Asgard, the domain of the gods, Thor's home turf. Don't steal his thunder. Besides, your Ark Energy isn't unlimited. Good steel should be used on the blade."
Guan Heng paused, then continued, "I'm going inside Asgard now to see if there's anything that needs help. You stay here and guard the rear. If anyone can't handle it, you can go help them."
Iron Man thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. "Alright. Be careful on your own." Then he retreated to the side, ready for anything.
With himself gone, Thor and the others might be outnumbered. Guan Heng patted his Corpse Storage Bag.
"Dabao, come out!" Guan Heng called out. He summoned Jiang Dabao, who wielded twin shields. "You stay here and help. Beat those giants and giant beasts soundly. Don't hold back!"
Jiang Dabao, wielding his twin shields, joined the fray. With clangs and bangs, he made the Frost Giant Beasts cry out in agony. Seeing that they had a helper, Thor and the others, though they didn't know who this guy resembling Captain America was, felt their spirits soar. They fought even more fiercely.
Bang bang! Guan Heng, sprinting through the corridors of Asgard, knocked down a Frost Giant with both fists. "This guy's body is so tough, it really takes a beating. I heard their strength can rival the gods. Interesting."
Guan Heng reached into his pocket and took out several metal bottles. "Frost Giant Blood. I'll take some back for Dabao and the others to try. Fresh stuff." Gulping, he filled a few bottles. "Anyway, these giants are like blood banks, plenty of red water to go around."
He secretly mused, Someone has invaded Asgard. Their primary target would naturally be Odin, who is in deep slumber. Thor, that brainless oaf, is having too much fun fighting at the entrance. Sigh, I'll have to go and look after his old man.
"Ah! Help!" A panicked Asgard Maid, who had stumbled and fallen, cried out shrilly. Behind her, a Frost Giant was swinging a giant axe, preparing to brutally assault her.
"Scoundrel, get lost!" Guan Heng, charging in from the side, delivered a flying kick that sent the Frost Giant flying. The giant retreated like a cannonball, Bang! He crashed into the palace wall like a lump of mud, creating a large cracked pit in the wall.
"Beautiful sister, are you alright?" Guan Heng reached out to help up the Asgard Maid, asking with a smile.
"Thank you for saving my life," the Asgard Maid said, not recognizing Guan Heng. "May I ask who you are?"
"I am Thor's friend from the mortal realm, the Exorcist Guan Heng. I heard Asgard was in trouble and came to help," Guan Heng replied. "Do you know where Lord Odin's room is? I need to rush to protect him; I fear he might be in danger if I'm late."
"Is that so?" The maid pointed ahead. "About two hundred steps forward is the end of the corridor. Turn left there, and you'll find His Majesty's bedroom."
"Thanks. To avoid further danger, you should find a place to hide," Guan Heng said as he rushed towards Odin's room, not forgetting to instruct the Asgard Maid before leaving.
With swift and unparalleled movement, Guan Heng arrived at the corridor's end and turned the corner. Suddenly, he heard a woman's plea from afar.
"Don't do this, Loki, please don't make another mistake!"
"Silence, Sigyn!" a grim voice boomed. "My wife, since you helped me escape the eternal punishment of giant rock chains and venomous snakes, don't stop me now. I want to prove to Odin that I am his strongest and most outstanding son."
"That's right, I am the strongest!" Loki, clad in a green cape and wearing a reindeer helmet, muttered to himself. "Yes, I want to prove this. I am stronger than Thor, stronger than all other gods. Dear Father, Odin, I'm coming!" With that, he was about to push open Odin's bedroom door.
"Hey, Fire God, look over here!" a sudden voice shouted.
"What?" Loki turned his head. He saw the other party had already lunged in front of him. Guan Heng swung his left fist, equipped with a tiger knuckle, and landed a heavy blow on Loki's jaw.
"Ah!" Loki was sent flying by Guan Heng's full-power strike imbued with Iron Fist Power. He spun several times in mid-air before crashing hard into a stone pillar.
"Making a racket and disturbing your old man's sleep, you're truly unfilial," Guan Heng shook his fist. "Uncle will teach you a lesson today."
"Pah!" With a clatter, Loki sat up, shaking his head. He opened his mouth and spat out a front tooth, which fell onto the marble floor with a crisp sound.
"Bastard! I'll kill you!" Loki pulled out a rectangular box from his chest and blew a breath towards Guan Heng.
"Whoosh!" A fierce, biting wind, carrying an oppressive chill, swept towards Guan Heng.
